    thomc:
    Does the new version also include fixes for different countries?

    No, not yet. Between DVR-MS support and working on the Open Media Library I wasn't able to spend much time on this.  I spent some time on it but I still can't figure out yet why it's not working with other countries. I don't get any errors, I just get empty result sets. I hope to have something soon.

    Re: DVD Library Manager for Vista Media Center v0.1

    taranu, I don't want to take much time away from you since you working on OML Smile [:)], but I do have a problem.  I can not seem to get the DVD Library Manager to scan my Changer.  I have a mixture of Changer and Ripped Movies, the Ripped Movies show up fine.  I unchecked the 'Show Metadata not corresponding to a DVD Folder on the Hard Disc, etc.'

    I just downloaded the app. so I assume I have the latest version.

    Any suggestions?

    Thanks,

    Re: DVD Library Manager for Vista Media Center v0.1

    Thanks for the great program.  I am just having one problem though.  This installed fine and runs great on my one Vista Media Center machine.  All movies display perfect in DVD Library and there are no problems.  On my other Vista Media Center machine in my den, I map drives to the folders on the other machine that holds the DVD Folders.  The Issue I'm having is now that I set up all of these movies in DVD Library Manager, I see 2 of every DVD in DVD Library now.  This is only on the one machine though.  Any Ideas?

    Re: DVD Library Manager for Vista Media Center v0.1

    First of all thanks for all the hard work u done, taranu.  This program is the best thing for my dvd collection.  I got everything to work out fine including creating the mklink but there just one small problem.  My dvds are on two computer which I network them together with one dvdInfoCache folder, included all the xml file.  But when I open up Dvd library I still see all the movie on the other computer with the info but without the poster "folder.jpeg", all the dvd in the local comp look fine with both poster and info.  When I go to the other comp the same thing happen, all the dvd on that comp show up fine with both poster and info, but the one on the network just have the info without the poster.  Anything u could help on this??  Sorry for my english writing skill :) Love your work man, keep it up, plzzz

    Re: DVD Library Manager for Vista Media Center v0.1

    Hi and thanks for a great utility!

    It's almost certainly me doing something wrong but I just cant get the program to return any results from amazon uk (or anywhere other than US). If I switch back to US it's fine. Any advice on what I might be doing wrong? 0.7.0.17 is the version I'm using.

    Regards

    Re: DVD Library Manager for Vista Media Center v0.1

    As there have been no responses, I imagine it's just me having the problem. Does anyone one the URL that DVD Library uses to scrape so that I can try to do some fault finding as to why any non-US amazon site returns no info?

    Thanks

    Re: DVD Library Manager for Vista Media Center v0.1

    I'm trying to find a way to get a list of movies that I have stored in DVD Library within Vista Media Center.  Is there an 'easy' way to do this?  Or would it be possible to add an 'export' (maybe XML) option to the great application?

    Thanks in advance,

    Darryl

    Re: DVD Library Manager for Vista Media Center v0.1

    The file TARANU.DVDID.XML is not being updated after changing movie metadata.

    When first creating the metadata for a movie I see that two XML files are created: (1) taranu.dvdid.xml in the \DVDName folder, and (2) a file named yyyymmdd-hhmmss00.xml in the \DVDInfoCache folder.

    The file named taranu.dvdid.xml file contains the Movie Name and the Disk Id. The Disk Id is the same as the yyymmdd-hhmmss00 part of the .xml file in the \DVDInfoCache folder.

    When I change the metadata for the movie, for example by doing a new search and selecting a different movie, I see that the file yyymmdd-hhmmss00.xml in the \DVDInfoCache folder is updated (its contents are updated but the filename stays the same), but the contents of the taranu.dvdid.xml file are never updated. It will always contain the Movie Name from when it was first created.

    Should Movie Name in the taranu.dvdid.xml file be updated when changing movie metadata?

    Re: DVD Library Manager for Vista Media Center v0.1

    can you add amazon.co.uk, play.com and playasia.com support to get infomation on dvds
    will make it alot better to find britsh dvds and asian :)

    Is it possible to add .iso support? so you can load .iso of your movies (this is simple by using Slysofts Virtual CloneDrive and duble click the .iso)

    Folder based option so i can put my tv series dvds in a folder like "A-Team Season 1 > Disc 1 Disc 2 Disc 3"etc

    btw exellent and basic tool for any mce user

    I have never been able to find why the non-US webservice from Amazon doesn't work.

    I have been spending pretty much all my time on the Open Media Library project so I haven't spent much time on the DVD Library Manager.

    Re: DVD Library Manager for Vista Media Center v0.1

    First of all, thanks for creating a great app. It's a great time saver, and I really appreciate it.

    I ran into a small bug when using the app. I started with a brand new build of Vista Ultimate SP1 and ripped to two folders - one on my F drive and the other on my G drive. I ripped using DVDFab 5 with the option of creating the dvdid.xml file.

    The utility worked for many of the DVDs I ripped, but gave me the error "Error creating file" when I tried to save the details. I used ProcMon to verify that the issue wasn't related to permmissions. I eventualy tracked down a "illegal character in path" exception that was being thrown my mscorlib.dll and swallowed by the app.

    I fixed the entries that were giving me trouble by manually editing the content of the dvdid.xml files. I changed the pipe character to a dash character and the program was able to save successfully. Here is the revised content of ARMAGEDN.dvdid.xml, which is one of the movies that was giving me trouble:

    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>
    <Disc>
     <Name>ARMAGEDN</Name>
     <ID>69122f56-8222b3a</ID>
    </Disc>

    Re: DVD Library Manager for Vista Media Center v0.1

    Hi taranu,

    is there a chance for you to have a look at the non-US webservice from Amazon again? That would be extremely helpful. If you need some help with debugging/testing please let me know.

    Apart from that bug your app does exactly what I need! Cool!
