Well I just checked my status again and my tuners shipped today!!!  The Dell customer rep did upgrade my shipping to next day so DHL should be dropping by my house tomorrow.  Now the real adventure begins.

I recommend that you have your subscriber come out and evaluate the signal strength of your connection...  I was getting the "No Signal" error tuning to some HD channels and since my provider has installed a 15 db amp and all is good..

I order a 420 on wednesday, got it on saturday.  My tuners, however, are not scheduled to ship until mid MAY!

Mine took 21 days to arrive.  They kept telling me 6 day delay; at least now they have updated their ordering site to say 26 days (business days). 

Anyways got them on Thursday; Comcast to come out on Tuesday.  For now they are working with Clear QAM.  Did have issues at first; only one working at a time.  I ended up reinstalling Vista last night for other reasons and both are now working.

I hope this is worth it.

I ordered a XPS420 with the Spring Savings deal. $1498 loded with a 22" screen and 2 DCT tuners on Sunday 3/30/2008.  The Order Shipped out on Monday (heck of a turnaround for a custom built system), but like you, my tuners are not expected to ship until 5/25/08.  Ouch!

I called Dell and they have a 21 day return policy from the receive date of each order (the tuners are a seperate order). I wanted to make sure that if a tuner arrived DOA, I wasn't going to have to eat it, because of the big ship date differences. I explicitly asked about support and return/replacement on the tuners and was ensured the tuners would be covered by Dell if withing 21 days.

So what the heck is up with ATI and their DCT production?  Either they are having some serious problems with the hardware, about to update the line to a newer rev, or significantly underestimating the demand for these products.

I'm hoping Ceton gets their stuff ready soon and I can just refuse/cancel the DCT order.  I was just going to order the XPS 420 w/out tuners, but wanted to make sure I got the Vista PID for DCT. Come on Ceton hurry hurry!!!!

I'm right there with ya' ordered Sunday expect the 420 tomorrow, but the tuner is no where in sight.

Chris L did say that it wouldn't take that long and in fact I've seen other who got their's in a few weeks. Dell just likes to say it'll take 3x longer than it really does, so you won't be dissapointed.

Dell broke my bill out into two receipts, one for the system and one for the turners... I was wondering what is the config in your systems..?  I seen a deal locally for a XPS for $850... I just under $900 for my config but since purchased faster memory and Vista Ultimate.

Yeah, the XPS 420 System is one order (and no finance charges if paid off in one year on DPA). The tuners are another purchase (and get financed endlessly on DPA).  I also orderd a 5 port Gigabit switch to chain with my current 8 port on the other side of the house for $40.  It was another seperate order.

I ordered mine in mid March and got the computer in less than a week, about a week quicker than they said (as usual).  The tuners are supposed to ship by 4/7/08 and I was hoping to get them earlier, but hopefully they will ship by at least that date.  The wife is out of town in two weeks and I will need that time to get things up and running and I really need those tuners by then.

BTW, i've got the computer at my office to get things working properly.  In playing blu ray disks, the CPU is at most 10% and the GPU is 6% to 10% at most.  This while running at 29-31 degrees celsius!  I did replace the stock VGA cooler with a Zalman VF900 to reduce some of the noise.  The temps dropped about 20 -30 degrees in total, so much I was wondering if there was something wrong.  This is on the ATI HD 2600XT.  A worthwhile upgrade for ~$35 - $40.

I ordered my XPS420 first week in March and it arrived a week later. My dual ATI tuners were back ordered to 3/29, then got delayed to 4/4 and then I received an email delaying to 4/11

I ordered my Dell XPS 420 on 3/19, shipped out 3/21, received 3/25.  The tuners were ordered on the same day of course (3/19).  As of now, the two ATI tuners have an estimated ship date of tomorrow (4/9) and arrival on 4/11.

A friend had his original Tuner ship date at 4/1, moved to 4/8, and last night he got an additional delay until 4/16.. and with this one he has to accept the new date with Dell or they will get cancelled. I'm in the middle of my first delay, but expect the second delay on Friday based on this.

I was right at my 21 day return window for the computer so I called Dell to see if I can return it, since I don't want to be stuck with a computer without the tuners and I wanted to at least evaluate the entire system and decide if it was worth keeping.  They said I could return it now, or that I could have a $150 discount.  I asked for $300 and we ended up at $250.

Maybe you guys with delayed tuners can get a similar deal.

What I really want is the Ceton dual tuner internal card....hopefully that is not too far off.

So my friend just talked to a Dell Rep who said the tuners were discontinued. I am very skeptical about this and he is calling back now. They are still offering the tuners on their website.. but.. the price is much higher. 2 Tuners are a $491 upgrade..

Nope.  Just got an e-mail today.  Delayed until 4/16.
