Just had to join the group as wanted to say thanks for all this great info - I ordered my 420 on Sunday the 20th, they sent it yesterday, and it 'should be' arriving today.  Pretty darn quick.   The DCTs are scheduled to ship on 2/3, so I'll keep my fingers crossed for sooner.

Well I finally got my tuner and guess what.  No remote.  Waited 3 weeks just to find out what I allready knew.  I called support and they want me to return this tuner so they can send out another one.  I don't think I will ever get a remote.  Between this issue and the restricted content issue, I have been totally turned off by Dell.  I have 3 Sony computers at home (never an issue) and this was the first Dell I have purchased for home and probably will not buy again from Dell.

Just PM DELL-ChrisM with your service tag #.  Chris L posted it a while back on his blog to help us remoteless folks out.  Happened to me this week as well.

ordered my 420 on the 10th.  got the box for a while now.  the tuners were scheduled to ship on the 31st, but they shipped 3 days ago and will arive 29th.

ChrisM took care of me.  The funny thing is Dell support called me today to make sure that I was happy with the cablecard I just received.  I just chuckled at him on the phone and said that I couldn't believe he just aked me that.

My DCTs shipped today!  Hu-rah I say!  Expected to ship on 2/8, shipped on 1/30.  Just over a week 'ahead' of schedule.  Or probably right in time, not using the week buffer they build into that date.  Either way, I'm happy, I can call Verizon now and become their slave.

Does ATI provide 64 bit drivers?

I know I am late to the game, but I ordered my XPS 420 on 2/15 and it arrived on 2/19.  The expected ship date on the computer was original 2/22.  Great turn around on the PC.

My tuners have and expected ship date of 3/7.  A full 3 weeks after my initial order date.  No status change on that yet.

I received my XPS 420 on the 2/18 and my tuners on 2/21. Maybe yours will come early.

Wow!  That's a great turnaround.  My tuners still have not shipped.  I received my XPS 420 the day after you.  It's been a week since I received the PC and 10 days since my order.  Should I call Dell customer support to check on my tuners?

PluckyHD:  How many days was it for you inbetween PC ship/arrival date and tuner ship/arrival date?

Well I called Dell Customer support about 5 minutes ago and even though the estimated ship date on the website is showing March 7th on the rep's system it had been updated to February 27 (aka tomorrow!!!).  He also offered to change my shipping from 3-5 days to overnight.  So best case scenario I could have my tuners on Thursday.

Quick question for the group:  Did anyone use the tuners prior to getting the cable cards installed?  Or should I just wait on the cable card install before using them?

Use them before getting cables cards installed to verify they both work and are setup properly. Update the firmware and make sure you can tune the analog stations on both tuners before cable card company comes out.

Well I just checked my status again and my tuners shipped today!!!  The Dell customer rep did upgrade my shipping to next day so DHL should be dropping by my house tomorrow.  Now the real adventure begins.
