    Re: Incorrect Duration Times Issue

Yeah I figured it was actually the last XP driver that it was really using based on the date of the one that gets pushed out by Windows Update in Vista.  From Jess's information on this being driver related, I'm actually planning on trying out some of the other revisions of the XP driver to see if I can get any different results.

    Re: Incorrect Duration Times Issue

If there is anyone out there who's seen this thread and is using Hauppauge PVR-1600 cards, please let me know.  If quite *close* at this point to pulling out my two aged PVR-250 cards and trying two new PVR-1600's, but I sure don't want to do that if I know there is anyone out there with those and still having this issue.

    Re: Incorrect Duration Times Issue

It looks like I may have spoken too soon when stating we aren't seeing this with our PVR-250.

Yesterday, Jamie's Kitchen appeared to be 9 minutes long, even though the entire show was actually recorded.

My wife was having a heck of a time trying to watch it.  DVRMSToolbox was trying to autoskip the commercials and the show was jumping all over the place.  Each time skip or replay was pressed, it would jump many minutes in each direction.

She ended up giving up and deleted the show (mainly because I have DVRMSToolbox configured to ignore keypresses to work around a remote slowdown bug in Vista so she couldn't turn autoskip off).

Yep, if you have DTB installed and are using it for commerical autoskip *and* have this issue on a recording, it makes it almost completely impossible to watch.  (that's how I realized I  had the isuse originally myself)

Are you using multiple PVR-250s or just one?

    Re: Incorrect Duration Times Issue

I recently switched from a single OTA HDTV tuner (Fusion 5 Lite) which NEVER had a recording problem in VMC to the HD HomeRun.  I am now having this problem too, usually when recording "The Office" but I see it on other shows (maybe 1 out of every 5 shows recorded).

Does anyone have a confirmed work around?

    Re: Incorrect Duration Times Issue

I'll add on to having this problem. I am running PVR 250's also. This is a really annoying issue, and I think a fix would be great, even a hot-fix we have to contact MS for.

There aren't any work arounds to stop it from happening, but you can fix the files after they are created using this tool.

    Re: Incorrect Duration Times Issue

I saw that Windows Update just pushed out a day or so ago a new VMC rollup package - I think the fix they came up with for this should just be pushed out in one of those.

Ok - thanks.  I did use VideoRedo's Quick Stream Fix option and that worked too... just kind of a pain!

babgVant - I and another user (onlydarksets) have reported in a different thread (http://thegreenbutton.com/forums/5/210597/ShowThread.aspx#210597) that this tool no longer works for us.

I used it for about a week and successfully fixed a few recordings, but now I get this error: Insufficient memory to continue the execution of the program.

    Re: Incorrect Duration Times Issue

For those of you with this issue, and a HDhomerun, there is a new beta driver release to solve this issue:

    Re: Incorrect Duration Times Issue

Thats awesome for those of you with the HDHomeRun - be sure and post your results as to whether or not this new driver makes the issue go away!

(I'm about to pull the trigger on 2 Hauppauge PVR-1600 cards to replace my 2 PVR-250's - I sure hope changing cards and drivers helps on the Hauppauge end as well)

    Re: Incorrect Duration Times Issue

I installed the new driver a few days ago. Sadly, I'm still occasionally having the issue. I've reported back to SiliconDust, but perhaps it really isn't a driver issue.
