Please include our product in the list. "EAHome" is the current working name and we are in alpha testing. EAHome provides home automation functionality including devices over X10, cameras, security, etc.

We plan to go beta by March 2005. Let me know if you're interested.

I just added a Media Extender to my system.  Its the Linksys, works great.  Is there a way to access any of the plug-in apps from the extender?  They show up fine on my Media Center PC under more programs, but they are not in that folder when accessed via the extender box.

    Hi,

I'm currently developing EPG support for countries without an official one.  At the moment it supports Australia and New Zealand.  South Africa is on the way.  More countries and features will be added upon request.

RE: Media Center Plug-Ins and Applications (Current List)

I've written a small utility that changes the time at which MCE will download the guide. See below for more details. The link is http://www.avsoft.nl/Tools/guidedltime/default.htm.

    How does it work?

    1. Download the EPG_ChangeDownloadTime.zip and extract it to your desktop

    2. Double-click the file EPG_ChangeDownloadTime.exe

    3.  The main screen will start and looks like this:

    4. In the left top corner you will notice the last time the guide was downloaded
    5. Now set the preferred time by changing the hour and minute indicator and click "Set"
    6. A message box will show that the new time was set. It also indicates that you need to restart the computer to take the new settings into effect!
    7. Quit the application and then restart the computer.

Many thanks to Cowboy for figuring it out!

RE: Media Center Plug-Ins and Applications (Current List)

Just found this outstanding list and two questions:

    1) The link to the Direct TV serial port controller seems broken ... is there an update ??

    2)  We are looking for a MCE 2005 "web based remote record" app.  We know about the MSN release since we were a beta tester, and we have beta tested Orb, but we remember an app for MCE2004 and even the first release that had a killer UI that had the same look and feel as MCE ... is that app still around ... I can't remember the name ??

    Thanks,

    Scott

I noticed dcut hasn't been mentioned in this thread, although it's been mentioned around the forum.  It's an excellent tool for cutting commercials and encoding to wmv all within the 10' interface.

RE: Media Center Plug-Ins and Applications (Current List)

    Chris,

WebGuide !!  That was it ... very slick interface that looked like it was married to MCE, especially with the original version.  I remember there was a lot of manual tuning and loading of things ... but it was very cool.

So ... there doesn't appear to be a 2005 version??  Do you know if they are working on one, since Orb is very full featured and MSN does the basic job.

BUT neither have that great MCE 10' UI !!

I don't know about others, but we would gladly pay for a remote record and PLAYBACK add-on that is tightly integrated with the MCE UI.

Maybe many people have forgotten about WebGuide and we should see how many GreenButton members would like to see a 2005 version ??

Thanks, your list is a huge plus ... thanks for the hard work !!
