    Do your MC remote work in your intergratged Hulu Desktop?

    I have the cheesy Hauppauge remote that came with my 2250. Works great on what I need it to do in WMC, but it does nothing in my Hulu Desktop. Anyone running into this or have a fix? Something I need to do?

    I have no issue with my Gyration remote, sorry can't help any more than that...

    My harmony works fine and my generic MC remote.  Keep in mind the only buttons that do anything are the arrows for navigation, 'ok', and 'back'.

     NitDawg - correct. I just can't get it working for anything. Well I'll keep trying. At least I know it "should" work.

    That is weird.  The build I did for my parents has that remote, although they use a harmony.  I will check the Hauppage remote on hulu desktop when I go over there tomorrow and see if it acts as it should and let ya know.

    I have a similar problem to you, and a very similar setup (win7, same mobo, capture card). My problem is that the remote only works extremely randomly (1 out of maybe 10 button presses), and at a huge delay (10+ seconds). When I switch back to WMC the remote works swimmingly. I also have problems with my gyration mouse in hulu desktop, so i'm thinking its an issue with hulu. I'd love to hear about any solutions.

    So on my parents HTPC system, the 2250 IR remote does work with Hulu Desktop, Win7 Enterprise x86.

    NitDawg -  Very very weird. I'm running Win7 x64 and it won't budge at all. I'm using the supplied IR receiver/blaster cable that came with it too and have the correct drivers. Like I said it works perfectly for volume in non digital media and moves around WMC no problem. I've been tinkering with it for 2 weeks now, trying to get it working in Hulu Desktop. Thanks for looking into this though, now I know it's something on my end!

    The only buttons that "should" work in Hulu desktop is arrows, ok and back. If you are trying to use the DVR or any other buttons, they don't work. It was only designed to work.

    It does work on my end with the MC remote fine, a little flaky sometimes but, it does work.

    Install LM Remote Keymap software. It's donationware and allows you to customise your remote for all, or just a given focused application. It's awesome! I have a profile for MCE and a profile for MPC-HC which runs my movies from MediaBrowser. Awesome! :)

     Are you sure Hulu Desktop is in focus when you are trying your remote?  If you have a wireless mouse, try clicking anywhere in the Hulu Desktop interface, THEN try the remote.  I had a problem like this which was solved by one of the Hulu launcher liaison programs (closes WMC, launches Hulu Desktop and reaffirms focus once launched - no more problems).

    Yes, this was tried, but was unsuccessful. I'm at a loss. I hate using the mouse! ha!

     Best I can suggest is to buy one of these:

    http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16880121003&cm_re=IR01BK-_-80-121-003-_-Product

    This is the one I have and I'm not sure there is a cheaper, fully functional MCE remote.  I like mine.

    My hp media center remote (model 5069-8344) works just fine. The pause button doesn't work but, when I press the ok button it pauses and I have to press ok to resume. That's the only problem I have with it.
    My HTPC started as a dual core Intel 1.8Ghz Dell Inspiron 530 that I added Windows 7 (32-bit), 4GB of RAM (3.25 using), 1GB Radeon 4350 (DVI to HDMI adapter), Hauppauge HVR-1600 (only using ClearQAM), Hauppauge PVR-150 (not being used), and a 2TB Hitachi simpledrive. Being watched on a LG 27" LCD monitor.

    Hiya, was just passing by on the internet looking for a solution to a very similar problem. I have a wintv pvr usb2 which came with the standard (i think) haupagge 48 button remote. After installing the IR32 program everything worked perfectly in WMC but Hulu Desktop was a no go. Here is how I fixed it. I came across mention of a file C:\Windows\Irremote.ini I popped this file open and after staring at it for a few minutes realized it had application specific options! Here are the modifications I made, I have no idea if both are necessary, it just worked on the first attempt and I didn't question it. 1) Find the section of the file that looks like this:
    ; First item in this section IS always the default app if no others found [Applications]
    Default=
    Media Center=
    IR Remote=
    and change it to this:
    ; First item in this section IS always the default app if no others found [Applications]
    Default=
    Media Center=
    Hulu Desktop=
    IR Remote=
    2) Copy and paste the entire [Media Center] section and rename the copy to [Hulu Desktop]. I realize that hulu desktop uses far fewer buttons, but I was looking for a quick and easy solution so I didn't set it up key by key. Copied everything including and between
    [Media Center]
    ;Exit app
    GRNPOWER={ALT}{F4}

    ;Main MCE menu
    GO={ALT}{HOME}
    MCEJEWEL={ALT}{HOME}

    TV={CTRL}t
    ...[lots of stuff between cutting out to shorten post].....
    ;DVD Menu
    GREEN={ctrl}{shift}m
    ;Recorded TV
    RED={ctrl}{shift}t
    ;Change the DVD audio selection
    YELLOW={ctrl}{shift}a
    ;toggle full screen
    BLUE={alt}{enter}
    Pasted that block right below and then changed [Media Center] to [Hulu Desktop] so it looks like this:
    [Hulu Desktop]
    ;Exit app
    GRNPOWER={ALT}{F4}

    ;Main MCE menu
    GO={ALT}{HOME}
    MCEJEWEL={ALT}{HOME}

    TV={CTRL}t
    ...[lots of stuff between cutting out to shorten post].....
    ;DVD Menu
    GREEN={ctrl}{shift}m
    ;Recorded TV
    RED={ctrl}{shift}t
    ;Change the DVD audio selection
    YELLOW={ctrl}{shift}a
    ;toggle full screen
    BLUE={alt}{enter}
    After that you'll probably need to restart ir32 or just restart your computer if you don't know how to do that. If all went well, when you load up hulu everything will work perfectly! Anyhow just registered here to post this because I saw you had the problem not too long ago, hopefully you haven't done something drastic like buy a new remote :p

    good luck!
