    editing movie genres

i'm trying to figure out how to edit movie genres.  the first thing i'm doing is using yammm to get my metadata.  it pulls metadata from themoviedb.org.  for some reason the genre in the created metadata file is often a subgenre listed on the page for the movie, the result being that movies are listed as being in genres wholly inappropriate.  i know where the file created by yammm that is referenced by the dvdid file is stored, and i can go into there and edit the genre.  the issue is that it appears that media center itself looks for genres for the movies when a movie is selected.  the result is that the movie is moved to a completely different genre when a movie is selected.

now, here's the real kicker.  it looks like yammm will replace the file containing the metadata if you change it, and this results in movies rearranging themselves yet again if you just let screen just sit without selecting anything.

does anyone know of anyway to override one or both of these such that i can assign movies to the genres i choose?

    thanks.

If you organize your movies by genre and select the option in Yammm to use Parent Folder as Genre that will prevent Yammm from overriding the genre option. This is an area I've made significant changes to in an upcoming release but that is your best bet for right now.

thanks a lot.  if you've made big changes, i can wait to look at the next version of yammm to make any permanent changes to my library.  i know you're working on it and expect to release it soon, and i'm not so impatient that i can't wait a short while.  this is really a more forward looking concern anyway as i'm putting together a media solution for my parents that is dead simple and looks good.  in that respect, yammm has been amazing.  thank you very much for all your hard work on this.  it is much appreciated.
