I have a bunch of photos that I want to be able to see in MediaCenter but I dont want Windows Media Player to index them. Windows Media Player 11 used to have an ignore button for media folders but this has been removed in Windows 7. Now, every time I turn on a MediaCenter extender, it freezes my computer for about 30 minutes while it re-scans all my pictures.
If I remove the pictures from the Windows Media Player library, they are no longer viewable in MediaCenter
I have tried editing wmpfolders.wmdb but when I exclude a folder in the XML, the XML just gets overwritten a few days or hours later then it goes back to scanning my pictures.
can someone please help with this? My scenario is not very unusual and this seems like a big oversight.
thanks
dan
