    Plugins index/list.

I have hosted a small blog for a while now but have found that my plugin index has been the primary traffic for the site since its inception. Yesterday, I posted an updated version of it that hopefully will help make the transition to Win7 easier on us all.

What I'd like, is for those interested to take a look and if you see anything missing to please submit whatever YOU find to be the most helpful. I still have some tools and utilities to add, so I know there will be some obvious things not yet added, but feel free to submit them anyway. The only real criteria I have is that a plugin must AT LEAST support Vista Media Center and if it only supports Vista, I would prefer that development for 7MC is underway. If it's vaporware...I'd rather it just continue digging its grave. Backwards compatibility to MCE is fine, but if it's an MCE-only plugin/utility, please just leave it be.

Acceptable programs can fall into these categories: Codecs, Encoding applications (such as MCEBuddy or standalone like Handbrake), DVD ripping applications (i.e. DVD Decrypter, DVDFab, AnyDVD, etc.), HTPC/Media Center specific utilities or tools (i.e. TV recording utilties, ISO mounting, batch scripts, etc.), Metadata Managers or External Players.

If you would like to help by submitting something, check out my index and submit something (bottom of page)...or just try some of the plugins/tools I have listed that you never knew existed. Thanks!

    Jon

Hey this is great to have a newly updated list of add-ins, thanks for the hard work here!

Would it be possible to add a voting mechanism to the plugins? Ie, so I can sort by user rating, or popularity? Other than that, love it! Much appreciated. Cheers, evorgevol

Jon- How would you like updates to plugins mentioned? Six of my plugins listed a little out of date. Would you prefer e-mail, PM, ...? And thanks again for your effort.

    Re: Plugins index/list.

Not that this matters much since the plugin is no longer in development (though I still used it heavily on my Vista system anyway) but under the description for MCEfm you state that Last.fm is not free. That's a bit misleading... it's only not free if you live outside the US, UK or Germany. There are subscription premium radio features that you can pay for, but they are optional and have nothing to do with your ability to use this plugin.

Also, Heatwave is still in active development. The author just posted on TGB that he hopes to have a fix for the problem with Win7 soon.

    Re: Plugins index/list.

Thanks for all the comment...I just saw all the referrals for today and didn't realize this thread had any.

@evorgevol - I may be able to work something like that up.  Right now, indicating extender support may come ahead of it.  The WP plugin to hold the table I'm using may not provide enough columns for me to work something like that in though.  Good idea and if I can pull it off, I may get to that.

@mikinho - Yes, anything you want updated just shoot me an email or use the submission form on the site.  I frequent several forums, but it's more likely to slip under my radar if posted here.  I know you're very active in your developing right now, so any time you want something new/updated listed, just let me know.

@jennyfur - Thanks for the corrections and I'll work them into the list.  I'm quite sure there are others I have misinterpreted what I have read or missed something altogether causing incorrect information.  I encourage anyone that finds incorrect/incomplete information to contact me so that I can correct it.  I have used probably only 20% of what is actually in the plugins section, so I have to go by what I find on the Internet...and the Internet is a big liar sometimes :) (and I can be very lazy).  Many of the plugins I listed have not been updated since I first started it over a year ago, so, for instance, Heatwave has picked up since (it was a dead project when first listed).

Again, thanks for all the comments.  It will only help to improve the index.
