PowerDVD 9 Blu-ray Playback issues in Win7 only

Is anyone have problems playing certain Blu-ray rips with PowerDVD 9 on Windows 7?

Something strange is happening, I have Windows 7 RC (official) installed and PowerDVD 9.

I am using the latest version of Virtual Clone Drive to mount the ISO images that I ripped using ImgBurn.

I have about 6 Blu-ray movies on the hard disk drive and 2 out of the last 3 that I ripped do not play under Windows 7. Iron Man and Wall-E.

However this is a dual boot machine and with the same setup they play fine under Vista Home Premium.

If I attempt to play one of these problem movies in PowerDVD in Media Center it says:

The disc drive you are currently using may not support the playback of protected BDRE content. Confirm whether the disc drive is capable of playing protected BDRE content or not. (Error Code = 0026)

    OK

If I attempt to play them in the stand alone PowerDVD player it says:

CyberLink PowerDVD requires periodic updates to continue playing back some new disc titles. (Code = 0024)

Do you want to update now? Yes / No

If I choose Yes it says: Player Application update. Update complete - OK

If I click OK and then Play again I get the first message about periodic updates and it goes round in a loop.

Why would they play under Vista with the same version of PowerDVD9, Virtual Clone Drive, Media Browser etc etc but not under Windows 7 ?

It sounds like virtual clone drive isn't 100% in Win7 yet. In fact I don't think it officially supports the new OS at this time.

I'm running the official 7 RC. I'm running PowerDVD9 Ultra.

I use ANYDVDHD to rip my Blu-Rays to an ISO.

I use Virtual Clone Drive to mount my ISO files within Power DVD9.

I have never had this happen. On occasion I have had to go to the Task Mgr. to get out of a movie, but thats only happened twice. Normally with this setup they play back fine.

I have had several disc that just for whatever reason would not rip. I think they were defective.

Is there a newer beta version for Windows 7? I was using the final release of VCD V5.4.3.2

I've found a newer version here 5.4.3.4 will have to try it out see if it improves things with Win7.

Re: PowerDVD 9 Blu-ray Playback issues in Win7 only

I can't get to the bottom of this issue, I've just done a clean install of Windows 7 RTM installed PowerDVD9 with the latest 2201 patch. And the same movies Ironman and Wall-E come up with this BDRE content error.

I then upgraded PowerDVD9 on a different Vista Media Center PC to the same build 2201 and that plays these two movies fine. So it's definately something to do with Windows 7. Using the latest beta build of Virtual Clone Drive to mount the ISO's and My Movies 3.0 PR11 however I had this same error when using Media Browser as well.

I'm surprised no one else is seeing this happen as well???

I'm just ripping the movie Knowing now will see if that play under 7MC / PowerDVD9 or not?

I uninstalled Virtual Clone Drive and installed the latest version of Daemon tools lite from here and now I can play the Wall-E movie so I guess Virtual Clone Drive is the problem.
