I am running Windows XP with MCE 2005 using an OTA antenna.    I had to update my TV tuner so I could get digital OTA signals.  I have a WMCE54AG extender that had been working fine. Now the home screen on the extender pops up for just a couple of seconds and the whole screen goes solid blue.  I have made sure my firmware is up to date, reset the extender a million times, unplugged the extender several times, etc., etc.  Does anyone have any insight on what I may do to correct this?  Any assistance is appreciated.

It's probably not related, but those old v1 extenders cannot handle HD, they are SD only. Even if you get the extender connecting properly I'm not sure if it will downscale your now HD signal to SD or if it will just not even try.

An Xbox 360 will work with MCE2005, and handle HD signals just fine. But they are as loud as jet engines...

What is wild is everything appears to be connecting fine.  The extender is communicating well with my pc.  But instead of the home screen, it is solid blue.  I see the home screen for just a second before it jumps to solid blue.

Will the XBox 360 extender support decoding of ATSC?

Yes, the 360 handles HD just fine.
