More problems with Linksys DMA2200 extenders

All of a sudden I can't watch recorded tv over my extender.  SD or HD, doesn't matter.  I have no problems watching the HD movies I have saved, so I don't think its a network problem.  It's only recorded TV.  I'm running Windows 7229 and have a cat6 network.  I have two of these crappy extenders and it does not work on either one.  I tried enabling/disabling flow control and reducing the speed to 100mbs/full duplex.  Nothing works.  Any ideas?

I believe you'll have to go back to 7100 RC until the RTM is out.  These builds stop functioning exactly like you describe.  Trust me.

Is this a CableCARD MC or what?

In either case, it could be your codecs on your computer. I've had similar problems when I was running Vista and although I can't explain why I was able to resolve by uninstalling the 3rd party codecs and rebooting.

It is clearqam, not cablecard.  I tried uninstalling the codecs first but it did not help.  I reinstalled ffdshow but that did not help either.  I never had a problem in the past so I'm not sure why it would start now.

Do you have any other extenders that do work?

No, just the two linksys extenders.  My hopes for better extenders seem to be diminishing.  Still haven't quite figured it out.  The kids are mad they can't watch Fetch with Ruff Ruff man.  :)

Sounds like something is up with your media center then. It is possible to mess up the codecs on the MC and cause this behavior. Any chance you have a backup or restore point?

Correct again sir.  I performed a system restore and the recorded TV played fine.  Even all the previously stuff.  The downside is the black border returned to media center and it wouldn't allow me to adjust it.  I haven't had time to play with it but its probably because it rolled back the graphics driver.  SHOULD be an easy fix.  Thanks for the help.
