I finally got the Win 7 RC1 installed to a partition and began playing with it. One thing I wanted was to see how the MCE experience is improved. I went through the tuner setup and it found my Vixs tuner (1 analog, 1 QAM), my Hauppauge 2250 (2 ATSC), and a set-top box tuner, which I don't have. I tried to continue with this configuration, but when it came to setting up the set-top box it required me to input something that wasn't there, so I went back and did a manual setup. Again, the 4 tuners I do have were discovered correctly and I proceeded to channel scan. After a long time it informed me that no channels were found. None! The only thing showing up in the Guide is a bunch of internet channels. I tried adding a QAM channel manually that I know worked in VMC, but no go. Any ideas?

Well, no thanks to this place, I figured out my problem.

It appears that since I had a VCR plugged into one of my cards via the s-VHS input MCE was seeing this as a set-top box. I disconnected it and reran tuner setup and all the right tuners were found (including QAM on the ViXS card) and all the channels I had in VMC were configured correctly. Looks to be working well, so far. I will be playing around with it to see if my other programs play nice with Win 7, but I think I'm going to take advantage of the pre-release discount and buy it. It definitely does run faster and smoother than Vista 64 from what I've seen.
