I recently went through all my MP3's in WMP and edited lots of info (artist, song name, album, etc).

Finally! All my music organized. But then I went into the folder where all these mp3 files reside, and they still had all the old info.

Example: i have two songs by Tupac. One is spelled "Tupac" and one is spelled "2pac". I change them to both say "Tupac" for artist in WMP. But on my computer there are still folders for Tupac and 2pac with subfolders for these songs.

I want the filenames to save as the artist/song name for their file name as saved in WMP.

Is this possible?

In WMP you'll need to make a couple changes in your settings:

1- Rip Music tab: Ensure your file name and rip music location are set the format and location you want.

2- Library tab: Check Rename music files using the rip music settings

Is this supposed to change my current files? or will it only work on new media i rip? I have 4,000 songs i want to be renamed Artist - Song the way Artist and Song are saved in WMP. I just made a bunch of changes within WMP to try to make this happen. Just cant figure out how to apply it so the file names change.

It will work on any files in your library but it takes a while to apply. You can force it to by readding your folder. There was another way but i don't remember where it was in Vista, in WMP12 under Organize there is a "Apply media information changes" that will kick off the process. It was a little more convoluted in Vista though.
