The first thing I'd check is your USB settings in your current power plan: make sure that "USB selective suspend" is disabled.
Also take a look at the power settings for your USB root hubs in Device Manager - uncheck 'allow Windows to turn off this device to save power.'
Change settings as necessary, and reboot for good measure.
