I am having some trouble with Windows 7 Media Center and I figure someone at the Green Button can help. Sorry if I put this in the wrong place, but I didn't see a Windows 7 forum...
What I am trying to do is to run a couple of .bat files from within Media Center. The purpose of these .bat files is to rename 'MP3DMOD.dll'. After spending many hours trying to get ffdshow to work, I found that renaming this file allows me to use ffdshow in Media Center. It will handle the audio of all my avi's, LiveTV and DVDs. The only problem is that with the file renamed, MP3 audio tracks will not play; I have to put the filename back to the original to get them to play.
I wrote two .bat files that rename 'MP3DMOD.dll' to 'MP3DMOD.bak' and vice-versa and placed them in the System32 folder. I have tried making an .mcl file to run these files, but I get an 'Invalid Application' message in Media Center. I tried converting them to .exe files, but still no luck. They work just fine if I double-click on them, but I want to be able to do this with my remote...
I've tried this http://chaddyess.com/2009-01/media-center-launcher-configurator/ and the instructions found here http://www.xpmediacentre.com.au/community/plugins-addons-windows-7/34824-register-launch-exe-file-mce.html . Neither of them worked. Now, I understand they might not be written for Windows 7 and that this forum is for Vista, but I really don't know what else to do. This forum has been a great help to me setting up both MCE2005 and VMC. I hope someone can help me (and maybe others) with Windows 7!
Thanks in advance,
Vern
