Hi,
I have just re-installed XP and downloaded the service Packs.
I can't install WMP11. I get the message "Unsupported Operating System. To install
WMP11, you must be running Windows XP Media Center Edirion 2005 or later. "
When I try and open MCE I get " Strong name validation failed for assembly 'C:\WINDOWS\ehome\ehshell.exe'. The
file may have been tampered with or it was partially signed but not fully signed with the correct private key."
I click okay and get:
"Application has generated an exception that could not be handled. Process id=0x908 (2312), Thread id=0xbc (2972). Clich CANCEL to debug the application."
I click CANCEL and get:
"Registered JIT debugger is not available. An attempt to launch a JIT debugger with the following command resulted in an error code of 0x2 (2). Please check computer settings.
cordbg.exe !a 0x908
Click on Retry to have the process wait while attaching a debugger manually
I click Retry and the grey box vanishes but nothing happens.
CAN ANYONE HELP - All I want is WMP11.
Could I reboot from my installation disk - isn't their
an option to repair current installation?
I really don't want to go through the process of
reinstalling XP from scratch again. HELP!
Dave
