has anyone else found there VOB playback broken ?? i have been doing alot of things on my system so i`m not sure if its a software install thats broken it or a MS update ??

oddly the vobs work in media player but not in media centre ?? must be a registry problem but where in the registry i`m not sure

If you have the VOB, IFO, and BUP files in a folder, you can add that folder to the Movie Gallery in Windows Media Center.  Then from within WMC, you can playback that movie.

Phil is it still recommend your have those files in a VIDEO_TS folder ?

To be honest, I haven't tried playing those files outside of the VIDEO_TS folder.  I've only tried playing the VOB file while it is located in the VIDEO_TS folder.  I'll try it out tonight, if I get the chance.

Thanks for the replys guys , it is in media centre my vob playback was broken ?? seems ok in media player outside of centre ... i`m working with some .EVO files presently , when its finished i`l go have another look at the vobs and see if there sorted yet, i only say that becuase i have been testing software lately on 7 and it could well have been some of this that broke it ?? i just wondered if anyone else had found broken vob playing in media centre so i could rule out an O/s update

I have the same issue. I have also seen this issue on a number of boards with no resolve only substitutions. :( .... Here's my stats: Using WHS [just bought - latest service packs] to store movies in a DVD folder. Using a P4-2.6GhzPc w/ 1.3G memory - Radeon 7000-64M card - Running W7-pro - just downloaded last week [8yo daughters PC] Running hardwired network. Want to stream to an Xbox 360 eventually [still need to buy] Directories are setup with //server/videos/from DVD/movie-name/VIDEO_TS and using My Movies - I direct WMC to "from DVD folder" and subdirectories..... WMC won't find VOB or iso files [lossless] - thus I can't play them there - WMP12 plays them fine now after adding codecs [this was an issue at first]. Using K-lite..... Here's what has failed: Tried added the directory through the movies screen [right click] Tried renaming directory Tried finding local on C: drive Tried adding a ton of codecs [and removing eventually] Tried installing WMP11 [all media plays fine on this one] Tried changing depth of search for directories..... Is there a registry setting in WMC [like the old Vista one] for turning the file types on? Is my PC hosting the WMC powerful enough [should still find them though]? Do I need to worry about finding them on the PC if the Xbox can find them in future with running the service on the PC? Do I have to rebuild/reinstall PC?.... Thx Rusty
