Windows 7 Media Centre DVB-T Dual Tuner Card Recommendation (Euro zone)

    Hello chaps and ladies,

I´ve just upgraded my Vista Media Centre to Windows 7 and my trusty (but old) Blackgold DVB-T card has stopped working and there do not appear to be any current drivers to make the old girl spew MPEG2 love. So my question is, what is the community recommendation for a new DVB-T card (preferably dual)?

    Thanks for any pointers.

Picked up a 'KWorld Plus 399U' from Maplins, it's a USB stick dual dvb-t tuner and it is only £24.99. Works flawlessly with Windows 7 RC, downloads drivers automatically. Great for the price.

Careful, certain versions of the NOVA-T 500 have serious problems with S3 standby & can also "dissappear" from Win7 & Vista TV Pack. Replacing USBEHCI.sys can cure it - but I wouldn't consider it a fully working card at present.

Thanks for that, I have had no problems up to now, but I will bookmark this in case I do in future. At present though, working flawlessly.

Which Blackgold card do you have? Some of their cards share the same reference design as the Pinnacle 3010iX (which I'm currently running two of under Windows 7) so you could force Windows to use the built in driver for that. You should be able to update the driver from Device Manager:

    • Bring up the Properties dialog, go to the Driver tab and click Update Driver
    • In the wizard select Browse for driver software on your computer followed by Let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer
    • Uncheck Show compatible hardware
    • Look for Pinnacle Systems -> Pinnacle PCTV Dual Analog + DVB-T Version: 6.0.3.6 [20/02/2009]

Alternatively you could just settle for a couple of these cards of "The bay" - I picked up two for under £30 including postage when my Terratec Cinergy cards failed Wink [;)]

I second that. Serious S3 problems exist with the NOVA-TD-500 too.

I've been using the Hauppauge HVR-2200 with Win7 RC, very happy with the card so far.
