Seems to.  Tried playing two recorded TV shows and they looked fine, both HD.  Seems to record okay, as well.

Ohh the joy of a leaked Media Center update... and what a different atmosphere than a few weeks ago...

Maybe MS should sit back and watch a community at work, perhaps they will learn that there is ground between the closed NDA beta, and an automatic update.

These are our PCs... thats Personal Computer... so I am personaly responsible for it, and if I break it that is my fault.... Yes you have warned us about the 'Risks' of being foolhardy and installing this but will that stop me... hell no... if it all goes wrong I can rebuild a pre Fiji version in about an hour, that is what makes us a community of enthusiasts...

But instead of making a community feel included we get driven to the unoffical downloads....

Just a heads up. The guide when using Sky Digital (via STB) is screwed. The channel numbers are all over the place, and I have 6 different BBC 1 regions (all on channel '1').

    Screengrab here...

More than happy to have installed it. Nice to see that it has become available, albeit via alternative routes. Just going to rollback until I have a bit more time to play..

Thinking of Richard's statement....as long as folks don't start complaining about things breaking/losing functionality, etc. :-)

..anyhoos, can anyone confirm whether any changes were made to how WatchedFolders are handled. On the current VMC, if you setup the PC to see recorded tv from another PC it takes a bit of time to refresh that gallery. Also, it doesn't seem to refresh sometime until you restart a couple services or restart ehshell. In other words, does it refresh the recorded tv gallery each time you go into it or ONCE when ehshell is started?

    Thanks,

    Ben.

Please file a data issue and specify Fiji as the client version.  Thanks.

The download is still available from http://www.mediafire.com/?kkthfq1xnaa

Jeff was saying that he purposefly hasn't pulled the link. For all the crap people have given MS in this thread and others about them forcing people to buy new computers and such, I think we should acknowledge the fact that they haven't killed this conversation.

Downloaded the pack to keep my option open but prefer to wait until the formal annoucement. I get the feeling that there are still some surprises. I waited a year. What's another month.

Now is not the time for patience or logic!  Actually I'll be doing the same, at least on my primary system.  I'm very hopeful that the eHome team has some surprises for us.

Re: Windows Media Center TV Pack

Apologies to the OP of this thread, and I don't mean to hijack this thread, but if anyone still wants to actually buy a new Media Center with a legit TV Pack (Fiji) installed, then we're now shipping systems with it installed.

Assuming that you don't want to pay full price, I've updated The Green Button Special Platinum Edition product page to reflect this. Of course, we're also including it on the full priced Platinum Edition if you'd prefer that model.

If you want more than two DCTs or want DCTs and QAM tuners, check back tomorrow once we've updated the product page with the new options (it's a pain in the a$$ to make big product changes on our website).

BTW, if any existing S1Digital customers have lost their recovery disc, please let me know so we can arrange a replacement. But you have to promise that you really lost it (those little kids can be ever so harsh on discs that are lying around).

If anyone has any questions, I'm happy to answer. Of course if you don't believe me, that's fine; although as we're actually shipping the TV Pack, I would believe me.

OK, you can all go back to the regular postings now. Didn't mean to interrupt the flow.
