MitchSchaft:A LOT of folks have standby issues. There is no real fix for it.
Believe me when I say, I did a lot of research on this problem so I know a lot of people have standby issues,……a lot!
It just seems like one of the perfect fixes to add to a service pack if at all possible. I wouldn’t be surprised if there were no such fix though.
Anyway, I’m sure I can fix the stanby issue by simple using the HP recovery set and then going back to MCE 2K4 but the update to 2K5 actually fixed some issues as well. Besides who wants to go back to MCE 2K4? However, as I said before, I strongly suspect the stanby issue was caused by not updating the motherboard BIOS before installing the MCE 2K5 update.
I can experiment with it a bit since I bough a Seagate 750GB HDD and would like to replace the existing Seagate 320GB HDD.
There was a beta program I tried (the name escapes me) that seemed to work very well but it introduced some stability issues so I uninstalled it.
