Re: Vista MCE tuning problems (please please help)

I can report that the e700 is now working perfectly on all channels in Vista. Phew, close one, Micro Direct wouldn't RMA without a fault and I was about to blow another £60+ on a Nova-t 500.

    Thankyou thegreenbutton.com

    Andy,

Your updated files worked for me - many thanks for sharing.

The last hurdle I had to get over was that after the reboot, the drivers would not load unless driver signing had been disabled during the boot process (using F8). Not the end of the world, but I hope Compro will issue signed drivers soon, as it could be a pain if I need to do this every time I reboot.

You could open a command prompt (with admin priviledges) and run 'bcdedit -set loadoptions DDISABLE_INTEGRITY_CHECKS' to disable the signed driver check.

I'm pretty sure compro will sort that out when they have the official drivers released and to be fair that may actually be my modified inf file causing the signed driver problems on the driver set that you used.

Great to see this being resolved finally, especially for those who are 'stuck' with the E700.

Very poor attitude from Micro Direct, Scan where I bought mine were much more understanding. I buy shed loads of PC bits and guess what, I won't be going to Mirco Direct again. Thanks for the heads up.

Andy, sorry, just seen your post as I have been away. I  forced the new driver by going to the system32 drivers folder in Windows and copying the  new .sys files over the existing ones.
Seemed to work but not really a recommended idea !!

Thanks for that too - worked like a charm.

    Jess,

Now I that have the Compro card working with VMC would it be helpful if I sent in another log file with the newer drivers so that it can be compared to the original log I sent in using the original drivers that did not work?

Hi this is just to say thanks for the e700 drivers, I've used them to get my Kworld PlusTV PE210 dual dvb pci-e tuner to work in VMC, i noticed that both cards have the same chipset so I thought I'd i'd give it a go as i was having the same issues as the compro guys

I think the Terratec pci-e card also uses the same chipset.

So we've got logs from people experiencing the issues and the team is actively investigating. I'll let you know what we find and what we will do.

Well, nobody has come up with a solution to my problem posted a couple of pages back so I've found my own solution! STOP Vista downloading drivers after removal of the old ones!

If I allowed automatic download and install of drivers after removing the old ones I got the message 'no TV signal available' - switch off the wireless networking, do a restart and Vista asks where the drivers are, point it to the right ones, problem solved!

Re: Vista MCE tuning problems (please please help)

the whole thread started as a Freecom USB stick problem but that seems to have got lost now as users of another DVB-T have found a solution

I've been in touch with Freecom and they've just said that it may work with the XP BDA drivers (it doesn't, VMC doesn't recognise that there's a DVB-T tuner), and that it works with TotalMedia 3 so they are not looking any more into it (and it took over a week to get a response of any kind)
