    manual edit of channel frequency

    Hello everyone,
I've tried to find an answer to a very painful problem I'm facing with my HP m7420/WMC PC in the forum, but with little success.
I'm from one of the countries outside MCE support - Bulgaria. Additionally, my cable operator is using very specific frequencies, and as a result I'm missing part of my channels and other are without sound or with very bad reception. I have the table of frequencies and I'm wondering is there any way of entering them somewhere directly in order MCE to scan and find just those specific frequencies.
My TV Tuner card is a Asustek Europe II Hybrid.
    I'm using Media Center 2005 rollup 2.

Thanx in advance to any link or explanation in advance!

    BR,
    Milko

    Find the Missing Channel

You've configured DTV in Media Center and are enjoying the beautiful picture quality and Dolby Digital audio, but there's something nagging at you. A channel you're certain is broadcast locally just isn't showing up in the Guide. The lineup information Media Center displays for digital TV is derived from a Federal Communications Commission (FCC) database. Nonetheless, there may still be discrepancies between this data and the set of stations that are actually broadcasting in your region. If this is the case, you'll need to manually add the missing channel to your lineup.

I think he means that he needs to manually alter the specific frequency to channel mapping, not that there's a missing channel in the guide.

    Try the following threads/sites

    http://thegreenbutton.com/forums/thread/2217.aspx

    http://msdn.microsoft.com/archive/default.asp?url=/archive/en-us/directx9_c_Summer_03/directX/htm/internationalanalogtvtuning.asp

After you enter the customizations in the registry, be sure to export the key and save it on your hardrive in case the customization gets erased.

pls follow the link that i provided and read the article, it goes over adding channels by specific frequency, only it refers to them as physical channels and minor channel numbers. i dont see the reason to go into the system registry just yet, over somthing that may be verry easy to corect.

Those articles only apply to the US and HDTV, he said he lives in another country with a provider that uses a custom frequency map.

yes that's why i suggested the article so that he could add channels by frequency.

channels and frequency are made up with numbers, and the last time i looked numbers are universal.

if he needs to add 14.54 he can add 14.54 and weather or not he's in the US 14.54 will now show up in media center, and if there's information on that frequency it will be displayed. numbers are numbers, and frequencies are frequencies, the united states has nothing to do with numbers being numbers.
