The XBOX Live network has been down for a while due to maintenance. During this time if I try to connect to my Vista PC the Xbox states that this game requires XBOX live and it never connects. I am not sure why XBOX Live needs to be up and running for me to connect to a PC 10 Feet away. If I am missing something, or if there is a work around please let me know.

interesting issue.
how are you connected and are your settings set to AUTO or did you manually set them? i'm not sure of why it would do this, regardless, but someone here might be able to help you out. altho they'd probably need more info.
Dont worry, this is only an issue during the Vista beta.
Have at a look at the release notes and it is mentioned that for the beta only, a connection to Xbox Live is required. This wont be required when the final product ships.

OK, thanks for the info. I have been using MCE 2005 since last November, and this is first time this has happened. I have been using Vista for a few weeks now. I wonder if Live is required for tracking/audit purposes during the beta.
