All,

Great news!  Tim is alive and well.  Well enough to allow me to post this latest beta that has allowed me to once again, toss my IR emitters back behind the MCE box and get back into reliable firewire channel changing and HD digital recording.  This is still a BETA, so there are certainly some bugs in it, but I like it so far. 

If you use closed captioning, it is recommended that you go back to the prior beta as there are some known issues with CC that will certainly frustrate the CC user.  Please...please go through the readme prior to posting requests or bugs.

Now...for our main event....enjoy!!!!

Nice timing on this - I was just about to go down this path with my 6412!

Not sure if this should go here or in the troubleshooting thread. I uninstalled the previous version of the program I had on my system (not the previous beta version, but the one before that) and installed this version.

Channel changing works fine with channel -v X XX, but will not work from media center. MyTray appears to be loading and is running.

When I try to change a channel through Media Center - nothing happens - neither tuner (I have two DCT-6200's) does anything - it's as though no command is being sent.

Any ideas?

Sorry, I did not read your post thoroughly...  Ok, so you are using this version and it's just not changing channels at all within MCE?  Weird...   Did you ever have channel changing disabled via a registry entry before?  Even if you do an uninstall, that registry entry will remain.

 

I don't know where else to ask this so I'll ask here. How do I go about geting support for the new Comcast boxes (DCT 3412). My 6412 broke and when I swapped it out I got a 3412, channel changing wont work with this box.

Have you tried the latest version at the top of this thread and looked at the readme?  This version supports changing channels for the 3412 as per the readme.

I enabled it via the registry, but it doesn't seem to change channels any more reliably than the previous beta. It will attempt to enter the channel number (it can be anything - a 1, 2, or three digit number) multiple times - up to whatever limit for retry's is set. Sometimes it will get the channel right and sometimes not.

As far as I know I got rid of everything from the previous version including any/all inf files that were present in c:\windows\inf after the uninstall.

The previous release version does change channels correctly but seems to have other problems as far as locking up the PC when viewing Live TV and/or recording while viewing.

What STB are you using?  With the SA3250 and this new build I have had zero problems, and that's even adding the complications surrounding having 3 extenders.

I would do a complete uninstall of MyTray, reboot the box, delete the timmmoore sections in registry, delete the directories and then reboot.  Then do a complete re-install starting from scratch, using the defaults of the latest build.  Seeing as there has been some prior "tinkering" done, I want to remove all possibility of that prior tinkering interfering with the latest build.

Well that worked. I uninstalled the program - then shut down the PC and disconnected the boxes. Then I booted back up, removed all of the OEM*.inf files, all the files dealing with meistb*.* and removed all references in the regiestry to the program. Then rebooted again, reinstalled and channel changing works like a champ now.

Still have an intermittent lock up issue in live tv and or when a recording is starting/finishing while I'm watching live tv but I'm not sure. I'm not using firewire recording right now (it was a lot worse when I was even if nothing was being recorded), but I'll have to play around with it and see what I can track down. Thank you much for your help - I guess a piece of the older version got left behind during the uninstall.

OK guys.  I'm trying to run the new version that was posted a few days ago.  I'm not having much luck, but then again I was having some issues previously as well.  Interestingly enough.  I'm getting a full system reset, not a BSOD, the system is rebooting itself.  Not sure if this is due to my TV card drivers (SHSPVR's Hauppauge Roslyn mce_2.102.22315.exe) or its something to do with FIRESTB. 

I'm running NVIDIA 1.02-185 Pure video.  This was a recently rebuilt machine from CD.  WinDVD 6, what seems like approrpiate patches from the firestb readme, Rollup 2, etc, etc.

Any thoughts or suggestions would be appreciated.

Interesting...the PC just reboots?  I'd be very interested in getting to the bottom of this one.

Couple questions for you:

1 - You said you're using both, Pure Video and WinDVD?  Why do you have 2 MPEG decoders?

2 - Exactly what steps do you take to make this reboot happen?  Step by step?

3 - Rather than post the contents of the tuner.log and tuner.txt can you please zip them both up into a single file and attach the .zip file?

4 - Does the reboot happen only when you try using FireSTB?

5 - If it happens when changing channels only, what happens when you try to record?
