Yes and No. iPlayer beta was meant to have RSS feeds for all of the channels, which would make loading the BBC content list much faster. But they haven't released that yet. They have also improved the size of the video, but I haven't been able to reverse engineer the new player to auto-play or go to full screen with the remote, so haven't made use of that yet. At the moment the new version looks to be bad news for us Sad [:(]

Re: BBC iPlayer addin for vista MCE

Im still having no end of trouble with getting the latest versions to work

I've checked my AppData folder (C:\Users\Media\AppData\Millisoft\TunerFreeMce\) and the programList.dat file is there and if I open it up, it seems like well formed XML

But it still hangs on Loading Cache.

If I delete the programList.dat file it hangs on Loading BBC (and then the cache file comes back and it sticks on Loading Cache)

I've added the useCache = 0 to the registry and it now just hangs On Loading BBC

So I tried getBBC = 0 and then it processes ITV and C4 just fine

Why am I having such issues with BBC?

Re: BBC iPlayer addin for vista MCE

Hi, everything works ok except when I make the stream full screen, then all I get is two giant flashing triangles that fill the screen (joined along the screen diagonal) - is there anything I can try to fix this?  Thanks.  (I have a Radeon 2600)

    Cheers,

Load BBC works in a very similar way to the other two, so I'm not sure why it's not working for you. It basically looks through http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/atom/available.xml for content. If you can see that, it should work just as well as the other feeds. Have you tried moving the cache file?

Does it work from http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer ? It's basically the same thing as that, so get it working from IE first.

Hi, yes BBC, ITV and C4 all work from IE - that was the first thing I did.. although I haven't tried it in IE in fullscreen mode - I'll try that this evening....

    Hi Mat,

Firstly thanks for all the work you have done on this, I am sure it has consumed a lot of your time.

Have you thought about adding joost to the content providers list supported by your software?

    Thanks

    No, no plans to add joost, but have a look at this;

    Martin,

Sorry for getting your name wrong, I read the post above! Thanks for the link I will check it out. I cannot see if it works on the extender so will test tonight.

    Thanks

Re: BBC iPlayer addin for vista MCE

Congratulations on a superb bit of software.  This is becoming an essential add-on for me.  My daughter loves to find programmes she has missed on CBBC.

I have one problem today.  The URL http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/atom/available.xml seems to have been deleted from the BBC site and I am currently getting no content from the BBC channels.  This could be temporary problem but it has been going on a while.

Any thoughts?  Is this the beginning of BBC supporting RSS only?

With the new iPlayer beta changes, the BBC have changed a lot of things, including removing the most useful rrs feed. Version 1.5.4 should work ok though, just a bit slower.

Re: BBC iPlayer addin for vista MCE

    Hi Martin,

Thanks for this great app, its really usful, esp. as i am using mu laptop as my media center while i'm completing my HTPC build and have no tuner for it.

had a couple of minor hiccups, hoping you can help:

1: sometimes vista media center pops up with a dialogue box saying: "invalid aplication:  iplayer" when i click on TunerFreeMCE and asks me if i want to close the app, i currently jus need to shut down VMC and re-open to fix it. but it does get quite annoying.

2: i cannot play channel 4 programs, it plays the advert, and then stops on a static screen. i can watch it in my browser, but need to click to confirm i'm over 18, then click to download media usage rights. only then can i start watching.

    any ideas?

    Regards

    Tom

Re: BBC iPlayer addin for vista MCE

    I also have a beta version of a new way of caching the content with a scheduled task. I think it clears up most of the hanging issues that people were having, but would like some testers. If anyone wants to try it, download it from here;

    Tom,

I'm afraid I have no idea why you have problems with the C4 programs. I have never seen anything asking me to confirm my age. Is there a particular program that that happens for?
