Re: ngRC 2.0 Beta is out

I'd be interested to know how many people have downloaded ngRC and are using it with their Media Center systems?

Re: ngRC 2.0 Beta is out

    Hi,

the 1st Version has been downloaded about 2500 times.

the Beta of 2.0 about 200 times (in 3 days).

To all of you: I have made a small news on my website, where I asked for help, making ngRC more known, please have a look at it, maybe you have an idea:

Is it taking you to the Video Library instead? Think that's a bug I've already added to the ngRC forum.

Does the Recorded TV icon work for you? The clacker board icon. It does nothing for me, both on the ngRC home page and on the virtual keyboard.

Re: ngRC 2.0 Beta is out

    Oliver,

Great APP you have.  Im a CI in the NYC area.. and I am very interested in being a very active beta tester on this.

For control systems my company uses http://rticorp.com.   I currenly tested this out with my own T4 ( http://rticorp.com/products/T4.html) and i have to say im very impressed with this so far.

The t4 runs on windows CE, and uses the IE web browser,

Is the GUI on ngRC java based?

I only had a couple of minutes to play with this, but my music  library is around 100gigs and after i click on music i do see my artist but i can not click on them.. only after i make a search then it works..

Would it be possible to made a html version of your APP?

Also where can i find info on skinning this app.. i would like to share it with my web dev. and start to make a interface for the t4 remote..

And one last thing.. the now playing looks kinda of empty compared to the pic in the 1st post.. is this because you have not added it yet.

Re: ngRC 2.0 Beta is out

Really love this app and its something i've been looking for for months. Its now very similair to a product called Mirage by Autonomic Home. They sell it for a lot of money!

I would really like to see a link to the queue page on every music page, the ability to remove a track from the queue and the ability to add a song to the queue without having to click into the song!

    Keep up the good work!

Re: ngRC 2.0 Beta is out

I had had problems (that I previously posted on) with the music cache hanging.

This new version without the cache absolutely ROCKS!!!!

Now I just need to decide between the PSP or I-Touch.   I've used my wife's I Phone for this but the flip screen kinda creates the need to resize the browser window every time it tilts from horizontal to vertical.  However, the charging stand is cooler than having to plug in the PSP.

Any preferences between the two from those that are using the PSP or I-Touch for this awsome software?  Thnx

I also had the problem of having to constantly resize when swapping from portrait to landscape, jtpmelliott - but I discovered it is actually quite easy.
Just double tab anywhere in the background, and it fits the page to size perfectly.
(then usually scroll down to remove the address bar)

Re: ngRC 2.0 Beta is out

Thanks for the tip on the double click.  I was using the 'finger sqeeze' to do the resize but it wouldn't work consistantly.  I ended up buying a new Iphone 3G for the wife and nabbed her old Iphone to use for my VMC.

Re: ngRC 2.0 Beta is out

I would prefer iPhone/iPod Touch, it's much more intuitive to control, because of the Touch-Feature and a very good Scroll-Funktion (with finger-slide). And the iPhone does not have the memory limit for showing Webpages like the PSP. I also found out, that the iPhone WiFi Support is much more stable then that from the PSP. With the iPhone I always have a connection, anywhere in my Flat. With psp, my connection is lost, when I am leaving the room ;-)

Re: ngRC 2.0 Beta is out

Hey guys, I can't get ngRC to work at all! I've been making some alterations to my HTPC setup and am now unable to use my Leadtek remote... this would be perfect for me! (Via PSP). But, I've run the install... I try and connect and all I get is a 404 error (not a not-able-to-connect, a 404. So the HTTP server is running). Under services.msc the service is set to auto start... What is wrong? Though I do have an idea what may be wrong: Do I have to install Java Runtime Environment? My VistaMC system is low end (athlon xp 2600+) so I'm keeping the apps etc on there to a minimum - would like to know before i go claggign the system up. Thanks!

The settings page to select an extender may need to be edited. The layers for the "Back" and "Credits" buttons are covering the layers for the dropdown menu and menu select button. It may be because of this that controlling an extender with ngRC does not operate; or at least I'm not able to control my Xbox 360 as extender with ngRC.

I've already logged that bug on the developers forum,
