oh... I was under the impression that comskip's development had stopped... can you provide a link to the newest rev?

it should be possible to make it work... it would require creating a new action profile that moves the inputfile into the tempmpg context then uses comskip to find commercials.

RE: DVRMSToolbox: Automated Commercial Detection, Skipping, and much more.

I am using dvrmstoolbox 1.0.9.7, and program find's commercial in dvr-ms file, but when i press in MCE left or right button on remote MCE show this message

    "Skip Error
Cannot Skip Past End Of Show"

Is there solution for this problem?

And I have WinXP MCE with rollup 2 installed.

RE: DVRMSToolbox: Automated Commercial Detection, Skipping, and much more.

That means that the remainder of the show is defined as a commercial. If this is not the case, then you need to tune SA so that it can do a better job of identifing the commercials.

babgVant, I really enoy how DVRMSToolBox will now begin processing a show if no XML is present. This is a BIG step forward in usability. Is there a way to default to always say YES instead of being prompted with the popup window? It's a Wife Acceptance Factor thing.

I don't understand what to do now.
I have .xml file with correct numbers in it, and i have autoskip checked, and when commercial is started MCE pop's up Skip Error message.

    Sorry on bad English :-)

RE: DVRMSToolbox: Automated Commercial Detection, Skipping, and much more.

The message means that the # in the end attribute of the commercial = the end of the show.

take this commercial span for eg.

the commercial is defined as starting @ 878 seconds into the show, and it ends @ 1077 seconds. if the show's length = 1077 seconds you will see that message. if the commercial actually ends @ 980, but SA hasn't detected it properly, then you can tune SA to detect the commercials better (it includes a tool to do this).

RE: DVRMSToolbox: Automated Commercial Detection, Skipping, and much more.

Now it's working, if you open my xml file you will see that commercial start's at 213.04 seconds, i change that to 213 seconds (without .04) and now it's working.
Can SA write seconds to xml without decimal numbers?

RE: DVRMSToolbox: Automated Commercial Detection, Skipping, and much more.

I am having trouble converting single files without commercials.

    Finished Commercial Detectection
    No commercials found
    Duration = 00:10:25.0937500
    media time
    len in time: 3897.43912281955640

This is what i see after I try to convert a file to a mpeg w/o commercials. I also see this if i just try and cut commercials out of a dvrms. If i run the SA school house on the same file it seems to detect the commercials. I have tried reinstalling and have had no luck.  I just don't know what to do. Can anyone give me some tips on how to get things working.

RE: DVRMSToolbox: Automated Commercial Detection, Skipping, and much more.

Yes. What MPEG2 Decoder (or DVD Player software) are you using?

I know Nvidia Purevideo 1.02.196 won't work with IC or DVR2WMV.
If you can't see the fnord, it can't eat you.

RE: DVRMSToolbox: Automated Commercial Detection, Skipping, and much more.

You are correct, I am using an NVidea decoder, though I don't think it's the PureVideo.

NVIDEA Video Decoder     nviddec.ax     version 4020.188.0.0.

    Which decoder should I get?

I've been thinking about buying AnyDVD for use with MyMovies, does that include a decoder?

    Thanks,

    Dave
