    jsous:
... Technology is progessing much faster than the content providers' dated and archaic business models. We saw the same thing with the music industry. They first tried to shut down P2P. Then they tried law suits against individuals, then they tried very strict DRM, now they are reversing the trend and issuing DRM free tracks. They cannot make up their minds because many of the people making these decisions are uninformed and lack an understanding of technological trends and potential. They are reactionary instead of visionary.....

    +1

They've snuffed out enough new technologies out of sheer ignorance and stupidity, while they could have made money from them.

Heck, if it was up to the content providers, we wouldn't have had the VCR (from which they certainly made a bundle.)

Watch now their stupidity and greed push the iTunes prices up to a point, where increased piracy will wipe out any profit-gains they hope to make by forcing Apple to implement price-increases.

    Re: Hulu.com anyone?

I am surrprised nothing has happened with this yet. Disappointing.

Luckily, the RSS feed works quite well. I just click on the RSS feed, and it gives me a list of all the episodes I subscribe to, and if there are any new ones I missed. When I view the feed, it takes me straight to the page, within Media Center.

I have a gyration remote, so having to click on Full Screen doesn't bother me- the mouse function is built in.

    Re: Hulu.com anyone?

I got the RSS feeder working as well.... pretty neat... does have a popular movie feed that is only full movies.  I have a wireless keyboard/mouse, not as cool as a remote.. but then its better than nothing.  I dont think it will ever work with the remote if we cant view the video directly.... instead of in their webpage.

I could never get this RSS reader working. Keep getting in a loop. I authorize it, it accepts and then it works but everytime I go back it asks to authorize again.

    Big Screen Headlines is another:

I'm not personally using it, but I use a bunch of their other plugins and they're some of the best looking VMC plugins I've seen.

That is the one mentioned earlier in this thread. Personally, I could never get it to work. Keep re-prompting for authorization.

Sad, Media Center support and development is surprisingly low...

    Re: Hulu.com anyone?

I am now convinced that their are about 12 people in the US that use Media Center...  That is the only reason I can come up with that explains the sad state of VMC third party development.

    Re: Hulu.com anyone?

Ha. Even so, VMC support is probably the most requested thing on Hulu so far. I just can't figure out why it's taking them so long to build something. They say its coming, but WHEN?!

    Re: Hulu.com anyone?

the age old question.... which came first the chicken or the egg??

Is the poor MC adoption because of lack of compelling plug-ins/content, etc.

    OR

Is there poor support because of lack of adoption?

I don't know the answer, but I'd say Microsoft has a vested interest in seeing the platform succeed and should put some of it's Billion $$ muscle behind development and implementation of content delivery. Hulu is such a game changer and such a compelling reason to use VMC that Microsoft should be muscling the content providers and developing its own VMC Hulu plugin. I mean why couldn't they build the existing "Internet TV" option to pull Hulu video??????? My god.... its a no brainer it frustrates me to hell.
