    Re: New Blog/Website for ngRC

I read that you will be accessing WM directly and getting rid of the cache layer.  For some reason, my machine spins (for days if you let it) while creating the cache and never completes, so I can't use the music feature.  Once this new release is out and the cache is gone this will be my favorite app on VMC

    Re: New Blog/Website for ngRC

I connected a speaker up outside on the front patio yesterday connected to a stereo amp in our room. Whilst using ngRC swinging in the hammock to control the music playng, one thing I noticed is that on the volume control up and down it does not currently give you feed back about where abouts you are on the Media Centers volume scale, i.e. 1 - 50. This would be a nice feature to add to version 2.

    Cheers

Any chance of this working on say a window mobile 6.1 device  such as a Diamond touch?

Re: ngRC 2.0 Beta is out

    Oliver,

This rocks!  So far it has been extremely stable and I love the new UI.  This is exactly what I have been looking for.  Now I can sit on my back porch and control what music is playing on my patio.  It is very responsive and even supports playlists, sort by genre, album, artist, etc.  Can't say enough good things about this.  The remote control icon with support for all media center controls is also a huge plus.  Many thanks!

Re: ngRC 2.0 Beta is out

Very excellent. Great evolution from the original. I have been using it today and it works perfectly on my two Vista Ultimate machines but right now as I am testing it with my Xbox 360 running as an extender only some of the application's remote functions don't work. Namely, the arrow and 'OK' keys don't operate on the Xbox 360; the 'Pictures' 'Videos' 'Music' 'TV' and 'Recordings' commands all work, so does the 'Start' command.

Just something for you to look into if you don't already know.

Re: ngRC 2.0 Beta is out

Incredible new version.  Thank you Oliver!

    Couple of requests:
    1)  Page Up/Page Down support (makes it very hard to scroll quickly through the guide without it).
    2)  An easy way to key in channel #'s without having to pull up the keyboard.

    Thanks again,
    Trevor

Re: ngRC 2.0 Beta is out

Thanks for the new release! I love the new look of it, it is very nice. The remote overlay is a work of art. I have had a couple issues but is overall much more stable for me than before.

It can still display an error message and lose contact with the library when trying to access the queue when it is too big. A restart of VMC fixes this though.

It also seems to double up songs when adding albums or individual songs to the queue.

Also with the queue it would be great if clicking on a song played it as well as the ability to clear or save the list.

Finally the way it sorts by artist is different than VMC as ngRC uses track artist instead of album artist. This can make the resulting list way longer when you have a lot of compilation albums.
