No, I don't. Can you send me a support package? (click the "About..." link on the bottom right of the Menu Mender window, then click the "Create a support package..." link) After that, you can try reverting the changes by clicking the green arrow on the Menu Mender toolbar.

Re: MC Menu Mender - Error

    Advent,

Thanks for the reply.  I have the file, but I'm having trouble getting verified at xpmedicentre.au and I can't send attachments here, apparently.  Message me at:  tntopspin (ate) yahoo (dote) com [misspellings intentional to avoid email mining]  and I'll send you the file (or have them verify tntopspin on xpmediacentre.au.)

I tried reverting (green arrow) and still VMC will not start.

I have to be away from home some today, but I'll have limited (phone) access to web/email and I'll copy that file to my phone.  I will send it wherever I can send it.

Thanks, again.  Your application appears great!  I'm sure we'll work this out.

Re: MC Menu Mender - Error

    Advent,

I've chosen to system restore to a point prior to installing Menu Mender.  I've also removed TVTonic.  VMC now is running fine.  I'm going to create a system restore point here, then reinstall Menu Mender.  I'm leaving off TVTonic for reasons stated below.

My gut tells me that TVTonic might be the culprit in my problems.  It replaced MyMovies on the TV + Movies strip without asking.  That's lousy behavior......stealing the spot.  A program that does that sort of thing without asking doesn't merit installation on my system and quite possibly doesn't play well with other programs like yours.

I hope you recevied the files I sent and linked to.  If they help your development, that's great.  I would urge you to install TVTonic, watch it bump other applications, and see if it somehow doesn't interact poorly with Menu Mender.  Just a hunch.

Thanks for your work.  Your program looks excellent and I look forward to trying it again.

Re: MC Menu Mender - Error

Glad to hear you got MC working again. As I said in the email I sent you, i've had a look at the files you sent me, and i'm a bit stumped as to why MC is crashing. Menu Mender doesn't appear to have touched ehres.dll, and everything I can see in your registry looks ok.

The behaviour you describe with TVTonic (replacing another app on the menu) is actually Media Center default behaviour - the newest installed app always gets the spot on the menu. However, TVTonic does seem to come up a lot in Menu Mender support issues - maybe it is doing something odd.

Re: MC Menu Mender - Error

Hello and thanks for running a great program... when it worked for me :/. I too am suffering from VMC crashing on start and I'm pretty sure it's related to Mender.

    My setup:

Antec Fusion V2 with latest Imon Software for LCD/IR
    Antec Earthwatts 430 PSU
Windows Media Center Remote IR Receiver (used with logitech one remote)
    Gigabyte GA-MA78GM-S2H - Bios F5
    AMD X2 BE-2400 Processor @ 2.8ghz
    2GB Corsair XMS2 6400 memory (5-5-5-18)
    1x WD 500GB GP
    Scythe Ninja Mini
    Windows Vista Ultimate 32bit
    CCC 8.9 drivers
    Realtek R197 sound drivers
    Vista Media Center
    MC Menu Mender (obviously)
    MyMovies Plugin
    MyTV Plugin
    PsychedeliaVizPack for added visualizations
Media Server pumping in Music, TV, Films
TotalMedia Theater for Blu/HD playback (integrated into VMC)
    AnyDVD HD
    Latest FFDShow Tryout

The worst part about this crash... it happens randomly and then it's broken. I don't do anything specific other than just navigating through VMC and then when I restart or leave VMC and go back in... bam the deadly crash. If I revert the changes and reload the backup files... crash is still there. Creating a new user account tends to fix it temporarily... formatting fixes it temporarily. I have restore points to times when the system was fine to counter this problem... but this is getting really annoying. I am PMing you a link to access the crash log and the crash package. Hopefully you can find something to correct this really annoying problem.

From the sound of it, it may or may not be due to MC Menu Mender. Why don't you replace the ehres.dll with the backup and see if it stops crashing?

Re: MC Menu Mender - Error

I've tried that before formatting etc... no good. I am now running in a previous System Restore state and haven't been having troubles. MC Mender is installed but I have not used it to change the menu's etc. and have yet to have a crash when I try to load VMC. I think the crashes are definitely related and I'm not sure how to track down what's causing it besides the fact that if I leave the menu's untouched it runs fine.... and if I customize them... sooner or later I get the crash which messes it all up and makes me start from scratch.

Edit: It's been a decent amount of days now and I haven't crashed on the setup I have going (without adjusted menu's). I think it's safe to say that's what is causing the problems.
