Absolutely!  I'll run it again tonight and post the log.  THanks SO much.

RE: Application to help sync your WMP and iTunes libraries

Ok, just tried again with the same results...

I clicked on "All Data" underneath "Sync from iTunes."

Several songs say, "song being copied to song."

Then, I get several messages that say,

"song information being copied to song information

    FAIL:C:\Documents and Settings\MyName\My Documents\My Music\iTunes Music\Unknown Artist\Unknown

    Album\Song.wav"

This same message repeats for several different songs.  At the end, only about 60 of my 1400 songs show up in WMC.

The clue is in the question: "Song.wav" ain't an MP3 or AAC file. Probably a direct copy of a CD.

Only a couple of songs in my library are .wav.  But I think that answers my question... should I convert my entire library to AAC?  Does that have any effect on quality?

RE: Application to help sync your WMP and iTunes libraries

    Ok,

1: Do all of your songs exist in both libraries? If you open WMP do you see the same number of songs listed as in iTunes?

2: Are the 2 applications (WMP & iTunes) sharing the same physical locations for all of your files?

3: In your output status window do you get dots? If so is it a lot?

RE: Application to help sync your WMP and iTunes libraries

We have 2 different issues here I think.

The first one is that a lot of items' information are just not being copied. This is what I addressed in my last post.

The second is that you are getting some fails. The code it is failing in is pretty straightforward, so I am interested why those are failing. Can you see any pattern in the items that are failing?

RE: Application to help sync your WMP and iTunes libraries

I'll answer the best I can...

1: Do all of your songs exist in both libraries? If you open WMP do you see the same number of songs listed as in iTunes? No, I onlsy see the same songs that music bridge was able to add.

2: Are the 2 applications (WMP & iTunes) sharing the same physical locations for all of your files? Yes.

3: In your output status window do you get dots? If so is it a lot?  Yes, lots of dots.

Unfortunately, I didn't see a pattern to the failed messages at all. Can I email you some screen shots?

Thanks SO much for taking the time to help me.

RE: Application to help sync your WMP and iTunes libraries

OK, MusicBridge does not actually add any songs to WMP. You will need to open up WMP and add all your music files. WMP should add both MP3 and AAC files (assuming you have installed a codec to play AAC files in WMP). Once all your files are listed in WMP (the AAC files will probably have very limited tagging at this point) rerun MusicBridge and you should get a lot less dots.

Those dots indicate files from the iTunes library not found in the WMP library.

RE: Application to help sync your WMP and iTunes libraries

OK, I must be doing something wrong here...

I can see all of my music in wmp. I run MB and I get the following:

    Starting...
You pressed stop or something bad happened

    Any help appreciated.

RE: Application to help sync your WMP and iTunes libraries

iTunes and WMp are sharing the exact same library of files?

Which function of MusicBridge are you using?

Does iTunes open itself when you run the function?

RE: Application to help sync your WMP and iTunes libraries

Yes, they are sharing the exact same files. I'm trying to use the Sync from iTunes All Data. And yes, iTunes does open when I run MB.

RE: Application to help sync your WMP and iTunes libraries

Sorry to say that I really don't know what the problem is. If it is failing so suddenly it must be something serious. You are running WMP10 right?

It must be me...I am running WMP10. I'll keep playing around with it.

    Thanks for your help.

For any MusicBridge users (or ex users) I'd appreciate your feedback in this thread:
