Re: AVerMedia released AVerTV Combo PCI-E x1TV Tuner (Analog and ATSC/QAM Ready)

I don't know if this is related - but just in case it might help...

I have a Fusion HDTV 7 RT Gold. I had a problem with video stuttering in WMC. However, it worked fine with it's own software.

My problem was solved by doing the following:

    1) Bought and installed the Nvidia PureVideo decoder.
    2) Made sure the PureVideo decoder is set as the WMC prefered decoder
    3) Disabled hardware acceleration on the PureVideo decoder

    I also have a
AMD Athlon™ 64 X2 Dual Core Processor based machine. There was an issue a while back with these processors and video stutter. Based on that I did the following:

    1) Read the following: http://blogs.msdn.com/astebner/archive/2005/12/01/499161.aspx.
    2) Was lead to this blog (see second to the last post): http://blogs.msdn.com/david_fleischman/archive/2006/09/05/741713.aspx.
    3) Installed amdcpusetup.exe that was linked on that site.
    4) Went to AMD's website and installed
    AMD Dual-Core Optimizer Version 1.1.4

I don't know if any of this is relevant to your situation, but just in case it might help, I posted it anyway.

Re: AVerMedia released AVerTV Combo PCI-E x1TV Tuner (Analog and ATSC/QAM Ready)

Has anyone heard of a resolution to the APC_INDEX_MISMATCH - BSOD error?

I reinstalled Vista Ultimate x64 SP1 on my PC (memory crash), and Vista downloaded the latest AverMedia drivers from Microsoft.  It says they are version 2.5.64.29, but are dated 6/26/2008.  Earlier in the forum, Felix said they posted updated drivers on 8/8/2008. I downloaded the drivers from the ftp site (ftp.aver.com) and re-installed the drivers.  Device mamanger is showing version 2.5.94.29, but the drivers are still dated 6/26/2008.

Before, I installed the latest drivers from AverMedia, I had no issues with the APC_INDEX_MISMATCH.  I think I was running version 2.5.64.25 or .27 drivers.  I am wondering if anyone has discovered a resoltuion to the current version of the drivers?

Build:  Vista Ultimate x64 SP1, Gigabyte GA-P35C-DS3R, Kingston 2x2GB, AverMedia M780 (2), Hard Drives of course :-)  Thanks.

I am having the same problem. I emailed Avermedia with the problem. This is the response I got:

    "Reply:

    Dear Customer,

Thank you for contacting AVerMedia USA Tech support,

The current *.29 drivers are the most stable and is Microsoft certified.

Since there are so many configurations of hardware for Vista X64, the stability can be compromised with some particular set-ups.

If haven't done so, you also need the system board drivers from the motherboard manufacture specific to 64 bit OS.

The motherboard needs specific drivers from the motherboard manufacture in order run devices on the PCIe bus.  You might be running generic drivers from Microsoft that will still report running properly, but isn't."

Of course I have all latest drivers on my PC. I had the error prior to a clean install of Vista with SP1. For a number of weeks it was fine, but now every time the PC comes out of sleep and open VMC and go to live to TV the APC_Index_Mismatch error occurs.

I don't know what the solution could possibly be.

    My setup: AMD Athlon 4800 X2, Foxconn 6150BK8MC-KRSH, 4GB GSkill DDR 400, 74Gb WD Raptor, ATI x1900GT. Vista x64Bit Ultimate SP1.

Is there anybody who can help with this issue?

Re: AVerMedia released AVerTV Combo PCI-E x1TV Tuner (Analog and ATSC/QAM Ready)

I posted about my APC_INDEX_MISMATCH errors last month and experimented with rolling back to the .26 drivers.  I had one BSOD with this error after two days, but ever since (almost a month now) nary a single problem.  Check backwards a couple of pages to see my posts.  YMMV, but my system is as follows:

    O/S: Vista 32
    motherboard: Gigabyte MA-GA78GM-S2H
    RAM: Corsair 2x1GB DDR2 800 PC2 6400 (Twin 2x2048-6400C4)
    CPU: AMD Athlon X2 BE5000+
HDD: Western Digital Caviar WD5000AAKS 500GB SATA

On further thought, I'm also using the Media Center Standby Tool and have it set to close out of Media Center upon going to sleep and restarting it completely upon resuming.  That could be making the difference as well.

Re: AVerMedia released AVerTV Combo PCI-E x1TV Tuner (Analog and ATSC/QAM Ready)

    mxnerd:

I just bought this card yesterday.  I'm surprised that it's CD does not come with TV tuner program, I guess they expect you use it on XP Media Center or Vista Premium/Ultimate only?

Anyway, I installed the card on my XP Pro. installed the v 2.5.0.19 driver on CD .  Downloaded AVerTV 6.07 and Aver Media Center 1.51.

I ran AVerTV and did a Analog signal scan and it went fine and finished scanning.  Did the scanning on OTA HDTV signal and the AVerTV ALWAYS STUCK in the middle of scanning channels!  It could happen anywhere 40%, 67% or 85% etc.  press any button (Stop, OK, Apply, close button) and there is no response.  The only way get out is end it with task manager.

Same is Aver Media Center, ALWAYS STUCK in the middle of scanning channels.

Anyone same experience?   Reboot and rescan, no use, same sympton.  It's really frustrating.

    System:  XP Pro 32bit

    Motherboard:  INTEL DG33TL, Video: Intel G33 Express, 4GB DDR2 memory, CPU: E6400

    Cable: Charter communication

    Location:  Southern california

I have the same problem. Im running Windows Vista, however. I think the problem in my setup is that My m780 and graphics card share the same IRQ port. I eventually got it to scan all the way through after trying countless time. I am now in the process of putting in a new motherboard to eliminate the problem

Re: AVerMedia released AVerTV Combo PCI-E x1TV Tuner (Analog and ATSC/QAM Ready)

I just bought this card and all seems well, <except> I can not get the remote or the keyboard to allow Vista MC to control my Cable set top box...

At one point, I was presented with the ability to choose the set top box, but for the life of me I can't find it.

Also, I've learned and relearned dozens of time, with no luck. Very frustrating. I also can't find anything on AVerMedia's website. Without this capability, I can't record what I want because Vista MC can't control the Cable box...

    MicroSSG

    ----------------Update----------------

Still not working, but more information... I've noticed now that when I schedule a recording and I have the cable box set to the channel to record (since MCE can't control the set top box) that I get an error about the Ir not being plugged in. The Ir IS plugged in and functioning, but obviously there is a missmatch in MCE about the true status of the Ir Blaster. I've un-installed the AVerMedia drivers and re-installed them and I get the same result. I've also tried the drivers from their website and still same result. Very frustraighting.

Re: AVerMedia released AVerTV Combo PCI-E x1TV Tuner (Analog and ATSC/QAM Ready)

I wanted to pass along more information about the APC_INDEX_MISMATCH error and a possible solution that seems to be working for me.

My build is:  Vista Ultimate x64, Gigabyte GA-P35C-DS3R, Intel E6750, XFX 8800 GTS, Kingston 2x2GB DDR2-800, AverMedia M780 (2), BlueGears Sound Card and Samsung 500GB HD.  I have the latest BIOS and drivers installed for all cards.

Before I installed the OS, I changed the HPET Mode setting in the BIOS fro 32 bit (default) to 64 bit, since I was running Vista x64.

With HPET Mode set to 64 bit, I would get the APC_INDEX_MISMATCH error, when the computer would try to resume from S3 Sleep mode to record a show.  I was batting a 1000, tried 3 times and failed 3 times.

Earlier this week, I decided to change the HPET Mode back to the default 32 bit setting to see if it would help. Since then, the computer has been able to resume from S3 Sleep mode and successfully record 3 TV shows.  I will record more shows to see if this continues to work.

If you are getting the APC_INDEX_MISMATCH error, try changing the HPET Mode in your bios to 32 bit and see if that helps.

I really hope this helps others with this issue.  I had already opened a support issue with AverMedia and have passed this information along to them as well.

    Dear TheGreenButton.com guys,

We recevied a lot of complains about BSOD with M780 when system wakes up after Suspend S1 or Hybernation S3. And based on BSOD dump files that a few of you guys provided, we made modification in our latest drivers.

I uploaded new drivers to FTP

    1. For Vista x64 please use this one: M780_AVer_Drv_x64_V2.9015.64.30_Install.zip

    2. For Vista x86 please use this one: M780_Drv_x86_V2.9015.0.30_Install.zip

please download them and tested them, please let me know if this fix problems with BSOD, email me back  beta@aver.com

Re: AVerMedia released AVerTV Combo PCI-E x1TV Tuner (Analog and ATSC/QAM Ready)

    Thanks Felix.

I downloaded and installed the latest drivers yesterday. From testing over the past 24 hours with at least 5 resumes from S3 sleep I have not gotten the BSOD APC_Index_Mismatch. It is early days but so far so good.

I'll report back in the coming days with an update, but hopefully this cures the issue.

Re: AVerMedia released AVerTV Combo PCI-E x1TV Tuner (Analog and ATSC/QAM Ready)

Since I can't get Windows XP installation going.  I finally decied to upgrade to Vista Ultimate x64.   And Aver Media Center finally works without much problem.  Although I think the program still need some improvement.

    To Felix at Aver:

Can you ask the programmer redesign the Aver Media Center to let user edit the program list directly, instead re-run the awakard setup wizard again?

Re: AVerMedia released AVerTV Combo PCI-E x1TV Tuner (Analog and ATSC/QAM Ready)

I'm still on .29 and Windows Update isn't giving me an Windows Update new driver notification- I'm guessing Windows Update is trying to bring you back down to .29.

I haven't been getting the BSOD, but my computer has frozen 3 times since I installed my card a few weeks ago.  GUI freezes, mouse doesn't move- have to hold my power button to force a reboot.  I'm thinking about trying .30, although if the only change is for that specific BSOD, I probably won't see my freezes go away.  Anyone else having this problem?

Re: AVerMedia released AVerTV Combo PCI-E x1TV Tuner (Analog and ATSC/QAM Ready)

Well almost a week later and still have not had a BSOD incident. I have done a number of resumes from S3 sleep state. Hopefully the issue is now solved. The driver on windows update is still the .29 driver. As Felix stated above the .30 driver is still Beta. If you are having a problem download this driver, if it doesn't solve your problem you can always roll back.
