    Re: vmcNetFlix Beta 1.0.4.5 Release

Yes, thats one thing I did want to look at in more detail ... the FF>> and <<RR seems to work in the Watchlater (downloaded movies) and I believe it works in the WatchNow after a while of buffering.  But it would be nice to replay where last left off - especially with the WatchNow.

I can confirm that eventualy FF and RW work after awhile in Watch Now, not sure if it has to wait until the entire movie is downloaded or not though. I would be happy if it just didn't start the movie over when you move or resize the window. That being said, I think your plugin is awesome, much better than the others out there, and have just happily donated $20 to your efforts. I encourage others to do so, and will contribute again if development continues at the breathtaking pace you seem to be working at. I LOVE THIS PROGRAM!

Not sure, but the 1.0.5.5 might fix your issue with not playing downloads ... there was a bug in that if UAC was turned on, there wasn't sufficient rights to play the downloaded files (because it's created by a service).  This version fixes that issue - still not clear why you cannot play the previews.

Most of the navigation issues should be resolved as well.

Previously, I was only displaying cover art in the details screen when in WideScreen - it's been modified to work in both now as well.

I also tamed the big ugly red Netflix logo =)

    Hey Eric:

This has really taken shape. I was finally able to get the "watch later" category to work for me. Strange thing, I had a screen come up asking for my name and password again within vmcNetflix. As soon as I did that I was able to watch the movie...I never had that screen come up before.

<<RR and FF>> worked when viewing "watch later" movies.

Navigation of menu and coverart and Netflix logo is drastically better...thank you!!!

Now if you could just get Netflix to show up in the TV + Movie menu area that would be even better. Also, I noticed that if there is something playing in the background you have to stop it from playing to navigate through your screens if you want to be able to read them. I would suggest either making a small viewing window somewhere instead of the full size running in the background.

    Thanks for the terrific job!!!

    Re: vmcNetFlix Beta 1.0.4.5 Release

Yes, I think it's waiting until the entire movie is buffered before FF and RW work ... also I'm planning to just address the start position of the movie when streaming (I'm not sure there is anything more I would have control over).

Thanks for the donation, if I get enough I'll probably look at getting an v2 extender to test with it.

Sharp_1:  Yes, I should be able to provide a install supporting the TV+Movie and I've also been thinking of changing the video background as well ... I should be able to get those changes into the next beta release.

    vmcNetFlix Beta 1.0.6.0 Release

    Released Beta 1.0.6.0:

    • Added caching of movie covers and implemented a major change in the way gallery items were processed in order to enhanced the load/response time.
    • Removed video background, this was causing occassional vmcNetFlix crashes when starting live video (like switching to live tv) while vmcNetFlix was running.  I'll look at adding it back in at a later time.
    • Modified to install vmcNetFlix Add-In under the 'Services\Movies' category - this places it in the TV+Movies section.  Will look into making an option to install into different locations at a later time.
    • Addressed more issues with UI behavior.

Thanks for the offer (I really appreciate it), but I just ordered an xbox 360 for my son's birthday - figured I'd kill to birds with one stone =)  (That, and Wii's are still hard to find).  Should arrive on Monday.

    Re: vmcNetFlix Beta 1.0.4.5 Release

The XBOX 360 arrived today and once I was able to wrestle it away from my son, which was no easy task, I was indeed able to get WatchNow streaming and downloads to work.  It actually took me longer than it should have because I ran into the 4 PC limit ... even though I didn't install this on 4 PCs, apparently each Vista user account that you attempt to play WatchNow movies uses up one of your available PCs.

Sorry for the late report, it seems that TGB was down for me most of the evening.

    Re: vmcNetFlix Beta 1.0.4.5 Release

Do you mean to say that you got WatchNow streaming to an extender (the XBOX?!)

    If this is so, WOW!

Can't wait for the next update:-)

    Re: vmcNetFlix Beta 1.0.4.5 Release

Yep ... I got it working on a XBOX 360 extender, and I see no reason why it won't work on the other types of extenders either.  It's a registry modification to the MCXx account, and it should enable the other netflix apps as well.  I'll first look into quickly writing a tool that can be run from the main MCE account, this tool would automate the modifications needed to be made to an existing MCXx account.
