Yeah, a screenshot of the current UI would be great (I'd also like to do a blog post on the progress and I don't even have a Vista PC around right now).

iso/disc image support is currently functional with daemontools installed.  What this means is that if you have a movie in the database that contains an image file of some kind (iso, img, bin, cue, etc).  We assume it's a dvd.  If you trying to "play" it then we auto-mount the image and redirect media center to play the dvd in that "drive".  Auto-unmounting is also performed when trying to play another image file so you don't have to worry that and old image is still loaded.

Does this mean a HD-DVD/BR ripped ISO would also play?  I'm assuming that when the Play DVD/Disc command is issued that Media Center checks to see what type of disc it is, and then acts accordingly.

I'd love to finally be able to have all discs, DVD/BR/HD-DVD useable from one app.  Right now the WAF on watching BR/HD-DVD is very low, due to the fact that she'd have to go to MyMounter to select a movie to mount, versus going to the DVD Gallery.

Obviously the HD-DVD/BR playback still brings it's issue with getting PowerDVD to play back the discs correctly, etc but that is something I can work around, educate her on, as long as the movies are all at least in one place.

    Great work!

No.  The "movies" were imported from a mymovies.xml file. But the plugin now uses it's own internal source.

Wow, that is a great question, yes we expect vmc to act accordingly, I happen to have an LG hddvd/bluray drive in my machine, if you could point me in the direction of making an iso from an hddvd/bluray then I'll find out and see what can be done about that. (Note; if its a simple iso then I'll try it but i'm assuming some kind of "authorization" issues might have to be dealt with).

I think you simply have to be running AnyDVD in the background and a simple ISO will work.  When it gets mounted, AnyDVD handles any "authorization" challenges that might be encountered...

That should work.  What I end up doing is using AnyDvdHD to rip the HD-DVD/BR disc to the local drive.  Then using the latest copy of ImgBurn to create an iso out of the ripped content.  Daemon Tool's mounts it perfectly and PowerDVD will play it back.

    Thanks!

Ok great.  I'm hoping the xml files I'm using right now from Taranu's Dvd Library tool will work as well.

Thanks for all the hard work!

Funny you should mention that, I won't take any thunder but I believe taranu may have something brewing in beta that may *somehow* be related to that product and this discussion.  That would be up for him to discuss though.

    Hi,

I cant begin to express how impressed I am with all this.

Sorry if this sounds a stupid idea, but I was just wondering whether OML (and all that has gone before it) have missed a trick:

Like in the same way, "Music" libs can group many CDs for an album; can we not have OML group many "Movies" to a "Box Set"

This would save us having 23 odd (and growing) individual titles for say "James Bond"... instead we just see the Box Set (which could even be a random thumb/cover from the collection, with two or three more from the collection barely visable underneath to show depth), which would expand to display once selected.

This is something that has come up by a number of people, I'll add it to our wiki page as a list of requested features.

I was quietely hoping inside that was the case.  I didn't realize he was helping you now with this app.  I swear I had to triple check to ensure I was reading it right.  His current app works great, and with something powering this project, it ensures me that it will be done right, and not overly complicated either.

I'm so ready to move away from the current DVD Library :)  Once you are above 200 DVD's it's a nightmare to find what you want.  We even have split the kids DVD's to show only on their account.  So your solution is perfect.

If your ever in Northern Virginia, I'll buy ya a beer, hell, a six pack :)
