Nobody will be able to answer those questions.     Anyone who knows agreed to not talk about it.  Anyone who doesn't know, waits for offical news or releases.

Vista SP1 has *nothing* to do with Fiji / next Media Center release /whatever. I don't expect anything from the Media Center peeps till next year...

I really don't know who you are so maybe you have some information more on the subject.   I can definately say that I remember reading blogs/news/articles months back of people saying that people got the next mce and sp1 backwords.   I don't know anyone in that posistion to publically make a claim of knowing if sp1 and the next media center are tied together.   it wouldn't be the first time an os change was needed to bring in a new major feature.

A Media Center beta isn't an SP1 beta. Two separate programs. And there's no update on any forthcoming Media Center beta - sorry!

:(  "No update on the media Center beta" sounds like we are in for a long wait... :(

But for those that hang on every word.... "forthcoming" that will keep our hopes up :)

it would be nice if updats/fixes/some features were staggered instead of one big update :-)

This way we could get some things  like UI /gallery changes sooner while they work on the bigger stuff like dish, etc. :-P...yeah I know: wishful thinking

Re: Do you want to beta test the next version of Media Center?

I'm just looking forward to new features with the beta and getting a chance to test it/report bugs. I keep "bumping" this thred because the date was May 31st when everyone would be contacted. I understand things happen but, an update like "very soon" or "around 5 months from now" would be nice in my eyes but, I know Microsoft wont let any info out.

I look forward to more options for HDTV programming, what ever it is, if it's QAM or DIY cable cards, I will stick with cable. If it's DirecTV or Dish, I would sign a contract tomorrow. Just preying for new options. Plus a lot of little bug fixes too...

Oh, well, I'll post again in a few weeks.....
