The only "supported" platform is the one that sits in my living room

That being said, if you're having an issue, I will make a best effort to fix it.

absolutely bab, although I've figured it out, that first time was pretty cumbersome.  having a wizard would really make it a lot easier.

My extender users aren’t apart of the group Administrators.  However, they are apart of the “MCRD Users” and “Remote Desktop Users” groups.  The mcestate, consumer, and memmap programs are all in the GAC, so accessing them shouldn’t be a problem.  Of course, you can check the file permissions on the folder “C:\Program Files\DVRMSToolbox” (and subfolders) to make sure the MCX* users have full control.

The only other permission issue I can think of is in the registry.  Please check the permissions on the “HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\DVRMSToolbox” keys to make sure the MCX* Users have full control in this key and all subkeys.

RE: DVRMSToolbox: Automated Commercial Detection, Skipping, and much more.

    Hi,

First of all, I love this app!  it's really great.

I was wondering how I can change the settings to the output file.  Specifically, I want to encode my files in wmv format (I am using the cut comercials, convert to wmv profile).  But the bitrate, filesize and resolution are too big for my creative zen vision:m player.  How can I change any of those three variables so that my output files will be ready to transfer without any further transcoding?

    Thanks,

    Alex

change the convert to wmv action to point to a different prx file. the application includes one for the ppc, it should be suitable for a pmp.

Disregard this error. I installed SQL Server for testing purposes. (My MCE box doubles as a Dev box since i'm trying to develop something for MCE), and that seems to have hosed the security.

    Sorry.

It's a great program. Now if ShowAnalyzer will just learn about HD programs a little bit more, it'll be a bang on perfect setup.

    Hi,

First, thanks for the app - it is extemely useful and so far it has worked perfectly.

I have connected the "remove commercials, output dvr-ms, move to recorded tv" profile to the file watcher. It picks up the recorded file, creates a mpg in the temporary directory and then gives the following error:

    Finished Commercial Detectection
    Duration = 00:10:20.5322816
Cut commercials out of DVR-MS file
    InputFile must exist.
    Parameter name: InputFile
    Duration = 00:00:00.0500720

I have the full log if necessary.

    What am I missing?

    Thanks for any help.

    Mike

RE: DVRMSToolbox: Automated Commercial Detection, Skipping, and much more.

I'm getting the following error when I run the config program
'This application writes to the HKLM hive. Membership in the Administrators Group is required to save settings'
which is odd seeing I'm logged in on an Administrator account.
    I'm running MCE 2005

do you get the same dialog when you runas the application as administrator?

have you renamed the administrators group?

If I choose Run As, and then select the Administrator account I get the same error. I've never changed anything regarding the accounts and user policies

I am trying to install and running into a few errors. Hoping someone can direct me.

    First dialog box reads -

An exception occurred in the OnAfterInstall event handler of Durrant.DVRMSToolbox.CACLS.-> Method not found:Void Durrant.Common.Settings.set_TemplatesDirectory(System.String).

    Second dialog box reads -

Could not find the file "c:\program files\dvrmstoolbox\dvrmsfilewatcherservice.InstallState".

The installer then backs out and does not successfully install.

RE: DVRMSToolbox: Automated Commercial Detection, Skipping, and much more.

you might want to do a repair installation of the .net framework (v1.1). others with similar install issues have had sucess with that.

    Thanks for the quick response.

I didn't see a flag for "repair" I uninstalled .net framework 1.1 and reinstalled. Still seeing the same error.
