I ran a coax from the STB to my tuner and that seems to have fixed the problem. I'm running some test recordings tonight just to be sure.

I believe the FireSTB app works with the 32-bit version of Vista, but can anyone confirm whether or not it works with the 64-bit version? Thanks.

I ended up running RCA audio cables from the STB to the tuner. All is well!! I'm a recording fool!

This is my second attempt at getting this app to work, and, happily, the problems I had previously (channel changing, jerky playback, and 16:9 format being squeezed to 4:3) are gone with version 1.0.15.

A minor issue, though: firewire recordings are defaulting to the Recorded TV folder instead of the Recorded TV/Fire folder. No big deal, but if I try to specify this path (or any other) by adding the Directory string value in the Registry, MyTray crashes. If I do the Reg fix with MyTray not running, trying to then open it will cause an immediate crash. And, more significant, just trying to close MyTray via right-click menu will cause it to crash.

Has anyone else seen this behavior? Other than this, channel change and recordings work fine.

Seems this thread is not too active now, but I'm not sure where else to post.

Anyway, I do have a problem with playback: after a few minutes of playback of a HiDef .dvr-ms file within MCE05, I lose video and just have a blue screen with "Digital Audio Connection" on it. If I close MCE and open up MyTray, it freezes up. I can Ctrl/Alt/Del out of it, but it produces the same fault mentioned above.

I can play this file without incident in ZoomPlayer, however, with MyTray running. I don't know if it's a hardware or software issue, so don't know where/how to troubleshoot, other than to find workarounds.

Mytray is missing dialog boxes for Tuner 1 & Tuner 2, but channel changes are working via channel.exe. 

Additionally closing mytray throws a drwatson. 

MCE was working fine with the STB and IR channel changes.  I installed this version 1.0.15 and MCE has now lost the Tuner.  Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I built a new system for myself.  All seems to be working well but, no matter what firestb version I install, I experience the following behavior:

Firewire recording schedules and completes as requested
Fire recording plays back beautifully in windows media player
Fire recording playback in Media Center generates error:

"Application Failure.  A critical media center process has failed.  Please restart the computer and try again...." 

I am out of ideas -- can anyone shed some light?  Thanks very much,

I uninstalled an old version (pre rollup 2) and installed the one at the first of this thread. Channel change works fine from the Cmd box ( Channel -v X XX) but it won't work from Media Center. My Tray doesn't seem to see the box. When I go into MC >More Programs> Firewire...  , I can change the box for the first tuner to my unique ID as it is shown, but I can't save it. I was going to attach a zip file here to let someone look at the log files etc. but I need an Administrator to give me permission to upload a file, so here goes. Any help will be greatly appreciated.
