RE: Application to help sync your WMP and iTunes libraries

Any chance of getting command line switches (sync iTUNES->WMP so I can automate this process say every 12 hours???

If not, any freeware GUI scripting apps avail?

RE: Application to help sync your WMP and iTunes libraries

I've used Music Bridge and it works great. I just have one problem though. Some of the metadata for certain songs wasn't brought into WMP. Quite a few songs came up as "failed" in the program. Is there a fix for this? Here are a couple examples of failed songs and their directories:

Candy Shop information being copied to 07 Candy Shop
    FAIL: F:\MP3 Library\Compilations\The Massacre\07 Candy Shop.m4a

Like A Rolling Stone information being copied to 1-15 Like A Rolling Stone
    FAIL: F:\MP3 Library\Bob Dylan\Biograph [Box Set]\1-15 Like A Rolling Stone.m4a

Master Of Puppets information being copied to 02 Master Of Puppets
    FAIL: F:\MP3 Library\Metallica\Master Of Puppets\02 Master Of Puppets.m4a

Additionally, I don't have any album art tagged in iTunes but would love it if albums showed up in Media Center. Is there a program to automatically grab album art from Amazon or some other source and bring it into WMP or would I have to use a program for iTunes to do that and then sync the album art over to WMP?

Thanks for any help you can give.

RE: Application to help sync your WMP and iTunes libraries

Glad it at least partially worked for you...

My first question is to make sure that WMP has those songs listed (sometimes it grabs most songs but misses one) and pointing to the exact smae file as iTunes. I don't see any pattern in the failed files you gave me, and a fail usually means it cannot find a matching file in the WMP library. A matching file is one that completely matches the filename of the iTunes file.

How many songs are in your library?

I believe there is an application called art grabber or something like that. If you search for it on Green Button you will find it.

RE: Application to help sync your WMP and iTunes libraries

Regarding musicbride, it has been recomended to me by many people to transfer Itunes music AAC to WMP.

That is great, where the heck to I get it from, did a google and only came up with a management company.

    Please direct me.

    Thanks

RE: Application to help sync your WMP and iTunes libraries

Try the first page of this thread. However it does not convert music, it allows both WMP (MCE) and iTunes to share the same music library and to syncronize tags, covers, playlists etc. across both apps.

RE: Application to help sync your WMP and iTunes libraries

Ok, I have read all this thread, and my problem isn't with the musicbridge software, but WMP10.

I went to the suggested site to download the AAC codec, that works great, I have pointed WMP10 at my music file (my music\itunes) and it goes to get it. I can see all my AAC files in WMP10, but its in the "other media" folder.

When I run musicbridge, all of the tracks come up with fail, every single one (1273 tracks). I'm clicking the Sync from Itunes ALL button, as I have no data in WMP10 I care about.

Can someone help me out? I've only ever used Itunes for my music, WMP10 is new to me

    Thanks

RE: Application to help sync your WMP and iTunes libraries

Ok, it fails because your AAC tracks are in Other Media, they need to by in the main music library.

I assume you are using the 3ivx codec, in which case that shouldn't be the problem. And you are able to play your AAC files from within WMP right?

How did you point WMP10 at your iTunes library? Using the Monitor folders option? Or the Add To Library option. Either of these methods should end up with all your AAC music files being listed in the WMP10 music section. They will not be tagged however and only the title (filename) will appear.

Are your files unprotected? Or are they iTunes purchased. Protected files won't work.

From reading the WMP documentation it seems to me that files get dumped in the "Other" category when WMP does not know what type of media they are. There must be a setting that tells it AAC (.mp4) files are music. I don't know of anyone who actually has had to set that up myself, WMP just knew for me.

Did you install 3ivx before or after importing your library...

RE: Application to help sync your WMP and iTunes libraries

    Hi thanks for the reply.

I did use the 3ivx codec, and I am able to play the AAC files from WMP when I select them from the other media list, so it knows what to do with them. I'm fairly sure I installed the codec before importing the list, which I selected using add the library option. None of the files I refer to are protected.

I think I'll try to delete the links to the files, reboot and import again. Hopefully that will put the pesky files in the correct folder.

    Thanks

Me again, the deleting of the links and then adding to the library again worked a treat. All of the files went into the correct place, and now musicbridge is running fine. Thanks for all your help.

RE: Application to help sync your WMP and iTunes libraries

This is a great thread, and I am thankful that people like you are out there.

I found the download zip file for music bridge but it is version 1.1, according to the first post we should be using version 1.5.1, which I have not been able to find the link to yet.

Can you send me a link directly to the posting that has the download.

    thanks again.

    It's on page 3.

I should probably put it up a MusicBridge website...

RE: Application to help sync your WMP and iTunes libraries

I just finnaly got a chance to download a play with it. Very Cool. Posting your own web site is not a bad idea.

One more question, I read that I can get the 3ivx.dll thru music bridge, is that true and if so where and how do I get it.

    Thanks again

RE: Application to help sync your WMP and iTunes libraries

I can't get the AACs to be part of my WMP library. They are stuck in the "Other Media" section, so Mediabridge can't sync them. I have deleted them a few times, but they always wind up in the Other Media section.
