I'm having another issue. Actually, it was doing this when I made my last post but while I was typing I opened the program so I could copy the error message but it worked (sort of, 'cause it gave me audio unknown problems). Anyway, whenever I try to do anything with the DVR-MS file, I get the following message (at the end 'cause everything looks fine up until then).

Error in Do Work - ClassFactory cannot supply requested class
Duration = 00:00:00.5781250

As you can see, this pops up 1/2 second after starting the RUN. Any assistance would be appreciated because I can't figure out why this is not working. BTW, I'm not running the program on my MCE machine but another (more powerful) computer. I 'know' that a previous version worked (1.0.9.5) and I 'did' uninstall the previous versions before upgrading to 1.1.0.1. Thanks in advance!!

in almost every case the input file is a a dvr-ms file that you want to do something to.  double click the input file field, choose a file, do the same with the output file, then choose a profile (the thing you want to do) from the dropdown and click Run.

Hi, great utility:) Have a couple questions... i have been playing with it for a few days, and it appears to be marking programs correctly for autoskip.. BUT i can't seem to get it to auto cut the commercials outa the recordings on the fly, or when its done recording, im sure this is my fault, but need a clue...

 

 Also, was just processing my old recordings dir, and had it set to create dvr-ms and move to recorded shows, it does this but makes the filename the same as input but with bout 12 random chars after, is there a way to make it replace the input file and use the same name?

 and sorry if these have been asked before, i been reading for around a house and its all getting blurry:)

Yes, the DVR-MS file plays in WMP on my XPsp2 (latest patches) desktop.

I don't remember seeing that error before, so I don't have anything definitive.  Try registering the mux and dump filters (MpgMux.ax, and CLDump.ax) using regsvr32; but usually if there's something wrong with that the error is different.

You can also try manually building the muxing graph in graphedit and running it there.

I haven't done much testing on non MCE machines, but from personal experience and what I hear back most everything works.

if you want to automate the cutting, make sure that the profile that is selected for the file includes the proper actions for cutting and moving.

there is an action to rename the file, or you can use the runexternal action to run custom code that would rename the file the way you like.

The file i was trying to convert to mpg had its commercials cut out of it a few months ago. Back then DVRMSToolbox was working just fine. Now, no matter what file i try to convert, it won't do it. Is DVRMSToolbox affected by other filters/codecs on my machine?

this used to work... you can alway configure the tool to dump the raw mpv and mpa files and use a mpeg editor to join them back up.

try registering CLDump.ax and MpgMux.ax; they may have gotten unregistered on your machine...

other codecs and programs can effect the tool, if they unregister or change components that the tool expects.

Nope, still got the same error. I tried reinstalling DVRMSToolbox, but that didn't help either. Would it help if i uninstalled other codecs on my computer?
