    Calvrak:
joshbish -- That's correct -- SideShow for WM doesn't pre-enable the gadgets for Extenders.

The core issue is that there isn't a way for a user to log in as the Extender account to enable the gadgets in the Sideshow control panel. The Vave100 remote and other devices are able to set things up so that when they are activated that specific gadgets (e.g. the MCE gadgets) are enabled.

Thanks Alex.  Is there a workaround or a fix planned (either on the Vista side or on the WM side)?

Thanks for the pointer.  Have downloaded and installed. Music and Pictures/Videos works fine but cant get any of the TV or Now Playing stuff to work on Vista Ultimate 32bit (with TV Pack 2008).  Whenever I click on one of these two, it says "The page is not available. Make sure Now Playing (or TV) is running on your computer and that the device is connected to your computer... etc etc etc".

All 4 gadgets are enabled and show up on my Windows Mobile 6.1 device however.

Can anyone confirm this should work?

    Thx, Rich

I have the same setup and the same problem. Unsurprisingly, Recorded TV shows up as videos, like in Media Player.

Maybe that's why there was a version check in the first place, as parts of it just don't work with the TV Pack?

Agreed. That doesn’t stop us though....

By the way, the same gadgets don’t work on the XPS Miniview, confirming that the problem is not Windows Mobile specific.

Has there been any updates for version 1.0 like to 1.1 and the ability to control extenders from these SideShow gadgets with Windows Mobile devices?

    Re: ** Media Center - SideShow Gadget Beta 1 - Finally it's here **

I am running the tv pack and have installed these gadgets on pda.  All working resonnably well apart from the now playing one which is pretty vital as you can't start and stop anything without it.  I just keep getting page not available errors .  The PC is displaying the now playing part of VMC fine though.

    very annoying!

    Re: ** Media Center - SideShow Gadget Beta 1 - Finally it's here **

This is from someone on the MS SideShow team, the reason the MCE gadgets don't work properly on the TV Pack version of Media Center is due to API differences between the TV Pack and the RTM of Vista Media Center there will be compatibility issues between the MCE gadgets and the TV Pack.

Broken API's in the TV Pack at fault again? Or just down to differences between the API's?
I don't know for sure but this is why it does not work, it's an API issue of some sort.
