Uninstall the version of the plugin that you have and try this one:
    http://www.keepitintimate.com/downloads/Cyberlink_VMC_Plugin_64_S1.4.exe

Let me know if this fixes the problem or not.

    Thanks,

Actually that file does both jobs the basic commands are:

"C:\Program Files (x86)\CyberLink\PowerDVD\PowerDVD.exe" /fullscreen (this launches PowerDVD from the Media center button or during autostart when inserting a new HDDVD or BluRay)
%systemroot%\ehome\ehshell.exe /fullscreen  (This relaunches Media Center after PowerDVD is closed)

Re: NEW! Plugin to Integrate PowerDVD with Media Center (HD DVD/Blu-ray)

Just tried your new v1.4 but same result I'm afraid. What should I expect to happen if I run MCEcyberlink.exe directly from explorer, will PD open or will MC open?

Re: NEW! Plugin to Integrate PowerDVD with Media Center (HD DVD/Blu-ray)

It should open PowerDVD, and then launch MCE after closing PowerDVD.  I may try a different approach if you don't mind testing it.

Try swapping yor current MCECyberlink.exe with this one:

Let me know if that fixes the problem.

No problem, I will test anytime you want.

Is there anything in the registry I can check is correctly eneterd.

As MC minimises that implies it is trying to start the process, and if I run the command by hand it start PD ok, does that imply that it must noty be finding the file? Is there an error log I could look at that might show what the real error is?

Re: NEW! Plugin to Integrate PowerDVD with Media Center (HD DVD/Blu-ray)

If MCE minimizes that is indicating that the launch command is working however the root to PowerDVD may be incorrect.  So what I did is remove the root to PowerDVD and instead just added the command ("PowerDVD.exe" /fullscreen)  This should make it launch powerdvd as long as the MCECyberlink.exe is in the same directory as PowerDVD.exe

Unfortunately this is a very basic script so there is no error log.

Re: NEW! Plugin to Integrate PowerDVD with Media Center (HD DVD/Blu-ray)

Some progress!! When I first push the button in MC , it minimises then I get a message about unknown publisher which I just carry on with. Nothing happens just as before. But Iif I then run MCECyberlink directly while in this state, PD come up in full screen mode. When I shut it, MC comes back up ok. Pushing the button again minimises MC again but no warning message. Then running MCECyberlink again pulls up PD and so on.

You seem on the right track here.

I don't know that I will be able to fix the Unknown Publisher problem but with what you just said I think the rest is very fixable.  Can you please tell me the exact path that you have to your PowerDVD.exe  I should then be able to edit the registries in the install program repackage it up and you should be good accept for that stupid unknown publisher stuff.

The path is as you have stated before I think ie:

    C:\Program Files (x86)\CyberLink\PowerDVD\PowerDVD.exe

Re: NEW! Plugin to Integrate PowerDVD with Media Center (HD DVD/Blu-ray)

Ok well try to uninstall and install this version:

    http://downloads.keepitintimate.com/Cyberlink_VMC_Plugin_64_S1.5.exe

If this doesn't work then there must be a problem with the .xml I am not sure why this would be the case though as Media Center register commands should be the same for both 32-bit and 64bit.  But maybe someone could correct me on this if i'm wrong.

Re: NEW! Plugin to Integrate PowerDVD with Media Center (HD DVD/Blu-ray)

Have just tried v1.5. When button first pressed, MC minimises and then nothing (no publisher box this time though). Run MCECyberlink directly from explorer while in this state runs up PD fine. Exit PD and MC runs back up fine. Repeating does the same. It looks as though the basic call is initialted but that it doesn't actually get to execute MCECyberlink. Having said that, the return bit works which must imply it has executed it in order to fall through to the second statement. I'm afraid I am not very familiar with XML etc but what is it that actually invokes the MCECyberlink program once the button is pressed?

I will have to turn in now I'm afraid, work in a few hours. Can't thank you enough for all you are trying for me, very very very much appreciated. I will keep checking this thread throughout tomorrow and will willingly try any other ideas you may have.

    Thanks again.

Re: NEW! Plugin to Integrate PowerDVD with Media Center (HD DVD/Blu-ray)

I'll have to do some thinking on this one.  Do me a favor when you get a chance after MC minimizes rather then running the MCECyberlink.exe run the PowerDVD.exe  if after you close PowerDVD MC launches that means the actual command is working but PD is not launching for some reason, if MC is not popping up then it means that MCECyberlink.exe never was executed when the button was pushed.

This could be a result of old registries from previous versions still being there.  If that is the case then I will have to have you manually remove them and then try again with a fresh install of S1.5 to make sure it's not a corrupted registry rather then a bad build of the last version I published.

I have to work pretty late tomorrow so I should be back sometime around 5 to 6pm EST.

armyb77, came across this link today, could this have anything to do with the problem? Looks like a different part of the registry should be used for Vista x64.

    http://blogs.msdn.com/astebner/archive/2007/04/09/possible-problem-registering-media-center-applications-on-windows-vista-x64.aspx

Will try out your request as soon as I get back in an hour or so.

Re: NEW! Plugin to Integrate PowerDVD with Media Center (HD DVD/Blu-ray)

Have tried out your test and running powerdvd.exe directly and then closing it does not reopen MC. I guess this means that MCECyberlink is not in fact being invoked.

As my previous post says, could it be to do with registering apps in x64? I have looked in registry and there are no entries in the 'wow6432node' for MCE extensibility but there are in the 32bit area. If what the article says is correct then it does look like the entries are in the wrong part of the registry for x64. I tried manually entering what I thought were the required entries into this area but this didn't work. I do not know however if I did all the entries that are required, it would be much easier to do it through your installer I suspect.
