yea it did say at the end of the survey that we should hear something by the 31st, so is it safe to say that the people who did not hear anything, did not make it... or has no one heard anything yet?

If it makes people feel any better, I haven't heard anything yet and I also get a almost guaranteed spot on the beta being an MVP.

So don't worry.  Again, I'll do my best to post when it starts so that everyone knows.  And always remember, plans change.  This is why Microsoft doesn't release a ton of information about upcoming features, they are not always ready on time.  Wink [;)]

It's like totally you guys' fault that no one has heard anything yet. :-) Okay, fine, it's my fault.

We got a HUGE number of applicants for not many spots, and it's taking longer than expected to go through and make sure we've got the right mix of people. I'll let you know more when I can.

Hmmm...the Connect site now has the following on it:

The Microsoft Connect Web site will be down for scheduled maintenance between 10am and 4pm PDT (Pacific Daylight Time) on Saturday June 2nd.

I wonder if this is in preparation for some large influx of potential beta-testers....  Cool [H]

You know what helps immensely when you need to weed out a bunch of people to get down to just a few?  Cage matches to the death!

See?  There's always a better way.  Bet you hadn't thought of that.

I very much doubt it. I reckon the number of people on the MC beta would be miniscule compared to other beta's like Longhorn.

Re: Do you want to beta test the next version of Media Center?

The Connect downtime is for a server upgrade/maintenance, I believe (and possibly a few backend feature upgrades too, rumour has it) so no, I don't think it's due to setting us all up on the new MCE beta Smile [:)]

I do have it on reasonably good authority though that if you've been active in previous MCE betas, then you should make the list - that's generally the rule, but should also apply this time around. As ever, there's no guarantees....

Reading between the lines of a few posts, I'm pretty excited that we should see some new features for Europe at last in the new version.... fingers crossed!

I called it ! I want to be a Judge !! So, someone send me a ticket, I'll hop on a plane, then monitor the match, and select the winner. As long as the monitors get a copy of the new beta, I'll be happy ! :)

    Why not ????
