    RE: My Menu|Web News|Weather|File Manager|Thumbnal Viewer|Special Folders

    Hi Simon,

Did you download it from my site?

There is a SetupPrograms.exe to setup all 8 applications, either in the Start Menu or in More Programs.

To test, all the programs also work in IE.

By the way, MCE Outlook is a separate file to download.

    Hi Simon,

The problem might be that the start menu only shows 2 extra applications, so if you have already installed 2, then you may not see the other applications.

Can you see them in more programs?

When you run My Menu Editor, you can see exactly which programs are installed and uninstall or move from more programs to start menu and vice versa

    RE: My Menu|Web News|Weather|File Manager|Thumbnal Viewer|Special Folders

You wanted a post from someone with Outlook 2003 so here it is

I installed Outlook 2003 and after that your latest version downloaded from your site. I registered it in the main menu which works perfectly. The application runs fine with one question for me. Should the application trigger Outlook to "send and receive" automatically, can i trigger that manually, or can't it be triggered at all? It's the only thing it doesn't do at the moment.

For the rest it communicates perfectly with Outlook 2003.

    Cheers,

    Azkikr

    *** EDIT ***

I just changed the settings of Outlook itself to a scheduled send and receive every 5 minutes, but this requires Outlook 2003 to constantly run in the background. I'm not sure if that's the best solution, but at least it works.

MCE Outlook is very very sweet!

I have the following suggestions to make it even sweeter, up to you if you'll use it ofcourse:

    1. Could you use the category field which is in contacts and would it be able to sort your contacts on that? Not really necessary when you have not more than a few hundred contacts, but above that it would be helpful.

    2. Could you put a search in Contacts

    3. Would it be able to select "Send E-mail" when you have a contact selected and then you will be transferred to the New E-mail screen with the e-mail of the contact directly filled in (contact needs to have an e-mail address ofcourse).

Just my first thoughts after a few hours fiddling with my new toys ;-)

    RE: My Menu|Web News|Weather|File Manager|Thumbnal Viewer|Special Folders

Slightly off topic but I hope someone can help

I use My Outlook to synch with my phone so that my wife can see where I am (work wise of course ) using the calander

However I get all the reminders popping up in Outlook on my mce box, is there anyway to turn this off without affecting the reminders on my phone.

    Thanks

    RE: My Menu|Web News|Weather|File Manager|Thumbnal Viewer|Special Folders

Soon there will be a Dutch version of MCE Outlook, thanks to Flip Keijzer.

I will check it today and then put it for download on my website.

The reminder problem is an Outlook problem, I don't know if you can turn it of in MS Outlook.

But if somebody knows how to do it, please post a message here.

    RE: My Menu|Web News|Weather|File Manager|Thumbnal Viewer|Special Folders

Hello, I was just wondering.. I installed 'My Weather' and when I want to quit it and go

back to the main menu it works fine with backspace. But if I press the Main Menu button

in the weather screen it will go back to 'My Webnews' instead of the main menu. How can I fix this?

    Thanks for any help

    RE: My Menu|Web News|Weather|File Manager|Thumbnal Viewer|Special Folders

I run Outlook 2003 and MCE 2005. I have installed the MCE Outlook from the author's site. I have used the setupporgrams.exe. If I run the program from the Start Menu, it is started in a standard Internet Explorer window. The first thing that happens is a message that says that I have been using My Web News for 38515 days (don't think the program has been around for over 105 years). There is a notification about a donation to skip the message. I press OK and then there is a message that says that I have been using My Outlook for 38515 days (again!). If I press OK the OutllokMain.htm tries to open, but it just hangs. I get the same effect from within MCE. So what have I done wrong??

EDIT: After changing some ActiveX security setting in IE, I was able to run the application outside of MCE. I still get the warnings though, and it's four (4) of them, every time I change view. Inside MCE I just get a black screen after the initial four messages, and it completely hangs. Cannot go back to the Start menu of MCE or view LiveTV. Any suggestions??

EDIT 2: Hmm... After leaving the computer on with MCE closed (I had restarted it a couple of times, but still had the problems) over night (no restart or anything) it suddenly worked this afternoon. I do not have the messages and I can access the app through MCE. Strange... Still, I'm only happy. I will post a separate message with comments on the app.

    RE: My Menu|Web News|Weather|File Manager|Thumbnal Viewer|Special Folders

    Hey Sape

I wondered if you could answer a few questions in regards to creating plug ins?  I have installed the SDK and changed the playmedia.htm file's design to my liking, but I do not know how to add functionality to it minus playing a link.  For example having the user choose from the left pane(where you have Rueters, BBC), click on one of the predetermind categories and then have MCE focus to the right of it more options(like when I choose reuters on yours i see a listing of news genres to choose from or i choose BBC I see a different list of new genres to choose from).  Which files within WebNews and what code in the files performs enables this type of functionality?

I appreciate any help you can extend!

    Cheers, Chaser

    Hi Sape,

I have been trying to get in contact with you over the last week. In regards to My Outlook, is it possible for you to send me the Reg Key for your application . I gave a small donation so to be able to activate all the components as per the  request on your website but as yet the Reg Key has not arrived via my email address.
