There are some really good points made here. I see OCUR and HD PVR as viable solutions although I don't honestly know how long term either solutions will be. Still what matters is here and now.
For what its worth I have seen the Hauppauge HD PVR for as low as ~$189.99. Typical pricing at newegg is ~$219.99 so you can consider $250 the old price or MSRP. The HDfury2 is not necessary expense at this time so it doesn't need to be in the calculation for the moment.
I for one would buy into both OCUR and HD PVR just for the heck of it. I could also see buying an HDfury2 just to play with it too.
When its all said and done though I really like that the HD PVR has no real DRM restrictions and that is something I would actually pay extra for. When you live with DRM it can be easy to forget how liberating it is to live without it,.....even if its just for a little while and at great expense.
