I fail to understand of the concept behind this.  Somehow I doubt your going to get H.264 within Media Center by installing a codec.  Codec's are not the issue and most of you already have H.264 codecs install (ffdshow, Cyberlink, et al).

For those that installed the upgrade I would check my box for malware.

Are you saying this because you got a hit from your scanner?

I realize something appears to be lost in translation here and personally I'm curious if this contains some bits from the leaked TV pack. Has anyone traced the installer in a VM?

Sounds like this will be great for those countries who can get HD via DVB-T.  Unfortunately in the UK only DVB-S currently carries any HD content.  Still waiting for when I can use both DVB-T and DVB-S at the same time...

But you could use DVBSBridge to emulate a DVB-T tuner, so that you can use your DVB-S card as if it were a DVB-T tuner.

Even if this software is capable of decoding h.264 within media center, wouldn't Haupage have to make drivers for the hd-pvr to show up in vista as a usable tuner device?

Re: New Codec H264 for Live TV

Had to give it a try. We have H.264 DVB-T (HD) here in New Zealand and are hanging out for some way to make it work in Media Center.
Sad to report it does not seem to work. I can view the channels in "Moonplayer" but it does not make any difference in Media Center (as I think most expected)

They are closed now, but they will say "hd-pvr is not currently suported within media center." I have an HD-PVR, but I do not want to install this software just to find out what jesperH already has, it doesn't work.

Re: New Codec H264 for Live TV

What tuners do DVB-T HD? How would people get a media center approved tuner with anything other than analog, atsc, or qam?

Indeed I don't see how it could work. It would take some help from Hauppauge I would think. Although it would be great to be able to at least play the H.264 files within MCE  / VMC I dont think this is the way at leat not yet.
