Re: Sam's Video Browser is now Open Source

This thread was incredibly helpful and as a convert to VMC I have everything about done. My only issue is that my videos are not showing the general synopsis of the series. I get all of the individual episode information. However, the series.xml file is not working.

    Am I missing something?

I have the metadata for each episode but as for the synopsis... nada.

Absolutely stunning plugin. This is what VMCE should have looked like from the beginning.

    Elonex Artisan HTPC Case > AMD Athlon64 X2 Dual Core (2.3Ghz) > 4 Gig DDR2 > Gigabyte GA-MA78GM-S2H Motherboard > ATI HD3200 Onboard Graphics > HDMI TV/Audio Output > 2 x Hauppauge 1300 DVB-T Cards

I just uploaded another alpha, this alpha is really much more like a beta stability wise, we are getting close to having a dot release.

    See: videobrowser.ch for more details.

    Things i'd like to see...

    * A Vista Media Center look
    * Horizontal scrolling like the rest of media center. Please Please Please :)
    * Set a default directory view on startup
    * Ability to link two folders as one e.g. i'd like to view my DVD and XVID directories as one folder
    * Description page looks like the description view in dvdgallery only using a bigger front cover

^^ those implemented would render mymovies front end pretty uneeded

    * Reduce zoom level of frames on focus
    * Decrease brightness of frames except for the one that is in focus
    * Animations between transitions to give it a more smooth experiance.

Overall I'm very impressed with it so far, i'm just one of those people that much prefer 3rd party apps to look as much like the rest of media center as possible.

Is there a bug where by if you disconnet a drive video library still allows you to navigate its folders until you try to open the description page where it crashes.

I think it has to do with the caching.  Even though the drive in disconnected, Video Browser's cache still points to the folder which is now gone.  Check the Video Browser forums for faster response.
