Re: More TV for Vista - Feature requests

Id love a better way to manage the music library, and video library, show nice list of all the folders, and play them, instead of big boxes. Somehow link a itunes library to vista.
    Thanks

Re: More TV for Vista - Feature requests

Its best if it can handle most versions and combine them, like this:
    Files on drive:
    \Show\Season\*s..e..* (Simpsons\s01\ep.s01e01.avi)
    \Show*s..e..*              (\Simpsons.s01e01.avi)
    \Show\*s..e..*             (Simpsons\ep.s01e01.avi)

And from inside the plugin look like this:
    \Show\Season\file

    /R

Re: More TV for Vista - Feature requests

Given the demise of KMS Software and the MCE2005 version of MoreTV, I'm wondering if the Vista version has also died a death. I don't know for definite, just suspecting it.

You might like to check out Big Screen TV Series from mobilewares as an alternative, though it's still a work in progress: http://www.mobilewares.net/mce/wip.htm

Re: More TV for Vista - Feature requests

that was scrapped too, well wont be out anytime soon anyways as the developer said he didnt want to risk getting in trouble using the tv show data

Re: More TV for Vista - Feature requests

    That's a bit of a shame.

Mind you, MoreTV is still really useful on MCE2005 even without automatic metadata download. Wonder if the developer could be persuaded to remove that feature and then make the program available?

Re: More TV for Vista - Feature requests

    Hi guys,

Sorry it's been so long since I've posted to this forum... my day job has been taking so much time up lately that I've not done much else!

As I've not been able to do much on the application for a while, I'm uploading the current beta of the Vista version to my website (address below), so people can at least have something to play with and give feedback on.

    The file is here:

    http://www.digitallivingsolutions.co.uk/downloads/TvLibrary_1_0_0_070705.zip

To install, simply open the ZIP file and run the installer.

To configure, at the moment there is a registry entry you need to make as follows:

    Create the registry key

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Digital Living Solutions\TV Library

Create a REG_MULTI_SZ value under that key called

    LibraryFolders

and add the paths to the registry value that you want to appear as the main "folders" in the application.

When you run the application, you should see folders for the paths you added.  Click on one of these and you'll see the files and folders in that folder.

You can customise the folders by adding a folder.jpg file in the folder which will then be displayed for that folder, and the program will extract thumbnails from supported file types for display in the app.

I'll post some more details about how to further customise the views etc. later.

If you have any comments, bug reports, etc. please send them to tvlibrary at digitallivingsolutions.co.uk

    Cheers,
    Andrew

EDIT - updated the link to point to the latest version

Re: More TV for Vista - Feature requests

    How to organise your shows:

You can use any folder/file structure you want to organise your shows - for example, I have a share called \\Homeserver\Recorded TV with a folder called "TV Shows" and under that the following (plus lots more)

    CSI\CSI\Season One\ <files>

    CSI\CSI NY\Season Two\ <files>

    Doctor Who\Classic\<files>

    Doctor Who\Series 1\ <files>

Another one is called "Films" which just has all of the files underneath.

    Films\ <files>

    Cheers,
    Andrew
