    Re: myTV v1.0.08038c released

Just installed myTV on a fresh Vista Ultimate x86 SP1 machine.

Added about half of my series collection.

But now myTV just gives me this message in the event log:

    "Checking episodes for: Jericho (2006)"

    Then nothing....

Even tried like 10 other shows but with the same result.

The show is added to the db but without episodes.

Never had this problem before. And I had my whole collection working on my old machine with myTV.

Anyone who knows how to solve this?

Can you tell which episode it gets stuck at?  Try moving that out of the directory to see if it still happens then.  I had an issue where a file was partially corrupted and did the exact same thing.

That's the problem. Even if I move the Jericho folder myTV will fail on the next series...and so on.

ahelseth, where are you?  Your last post to this thread was over three (3) months ago.  Your last visit to theGreenButton was a few days ago.

What is going on with your web site/blog? There was a post about your SQL server going down but that was three months ago.  Is there anything we can do?

Do you need additional financial or technical assistance to get the site back up? I would be glad to offer any assistance I can to help get on of my favorite sites back online.

PM me with your ASUS Striker Extreme Horror Story..

The last post here being 3 months ago isn't all that weird, because he posted on his own website within the past few weeks, so I wouldn't be concerned about that.

As for the web server, unfortunately sometimes when you're not a large company, these things take a little while to have fixed.

Are there any errors in the event viewer that would indicate why it's dying?

If you're unfamiliar with the event viewer it's in Control Panel --> Administrative Tools --> Event Viewer

You'll find the myTV log under then Applications --> myTV link.

    Re: myTV v1.0.08038c released

    "Checking episodes for: x"

That's the last thing in the event viewer. x be the last show added (I tried do move like 10 diffrent show away from the folder watch because I thought they by some reason hanged myTV. But no luck"

    No errors.

If reinstall myTV with repair alternative I get one more show added then it stalls again. Tried this 3 time and same pattern. One more show added each time then it get stuck on "Checking episodes for: x".

Also myTV seems to be limited to 9 seasons. Season 10 is put in "Special". And Season 11 is put in Season 1. (Tested with Frasier and JAG).

Hmm....it sounds to me like a bad SQL installation. I would try uninstalling SQL, myTV, and .NET and reinstalling SQL, .NET, and myTV in that order and see what happens. As for Season 10 or higher, I know this works because i have all the seasons of south park and i have no problems. How are the episodes in these shows labeled for seasons 9 and 10?

    Re: myTV v1.0.08038c released

Actually I think I found the problem. A few of my series had "[Blu-ray]" / "[HD DVD]" in the folder name. They all where matched and worked perfectly well in myTV. And myTV always stalled on other folder like I mentioned earlier. But after removing "[Blu-ray]" from every folder, myTV now scans and adds my entire library. Maybe a bug?

I have this kind of folder tree and naming sheme:

    Series

       Frasier

          Season 1

             S01E01 - The Good Son

             S01E02 - Space Quest

          Season 2

S02E01 - Slow Tango in South Seattle

          Season 10

             S10E01 - The Ring Cycle

But season 10 episoders are placed in the season 1 folder in myTV. And season 11 episodes in a folder called specials in myTV.

    Same with JAG

Tried several times. But same result. You are sure that myTV can handle over 9 seasons?
