    Hi,

The Amazon scraper works great except for one thing.

When importing any movie, just about all of them have (widescreen version), (UMD for PSP) (Blu-Ray) Ect after them.  It would be really good if the scraper could remove those tags in the title.

And also to be able to run through all your movies.

I presume its no where near finished seeing as though its just appeared, just giving some ideas for what to add/improve in it.

Re: Open Media Library - souce posted

Hi, I'm new here and I'm sorry if this is the wrong place to ask this but I've hit a brick wall -

I'm trying to set up media center for my dad right now, and he's really not good at all with computers (he can only just about use a mouse). In trying to find a good simple video library for him, I came across OML and it really is fantastic for him. (He found the titles in My Movies too small to see and the media center DVD gallery won't show the avi files I've been making for him over the years)

The one problem I'm having is the scroll speed. Due to my dad's severe lack of mouse skills, whenever he tries to click on a film it zooms off across the screen, so he tries to get back to it prompting even more high speed zooming. At the moment OML is just a very colourful high speed blur for him, is there any way I can slow down the scroll speed or make it less sensitive to mouse movements? I couldn't seem to find an option for it.

    Thanks in advance

Not sure if this helps by why not buy a Media Center remote control? It makes browsing a lot easier and has dedicated buttons to jump around and control what is happening. It will then be far easier to control than with the mouse. Just do a Google search for "vista media center remote" to get an idea.

I completely agree with Rob.  The remote is definitely going to be the easiest way to control the Media Center experience full stop (and especially OML).

Fantastic, thanks so much! I had looked previously at the Logitech Harmony 525 but I didn't realise there were specific Media Center remotes. I'll get him one of those, hopefully it won't confuse him :)

Hi Rahinco, just a quick thought. Is the computer hooked up to his TV or does he sit at his desk to watch movies. If it's connected to the tv than a cheap MCE remote is definitely the way to go. If not you may want to investigate a keyboard that has Integrated Multimedia keys. He could use the built-in navigation keys on the keyboard to slowly scroll though MCE.

Re: Open Media Library - souce posted

    Hi,

    A couple more questions...

Is it possible to go into the movie screen by using a remote? I have a logitech Universal remote so I can set it up however needed, but I want to add a button to start up OML.

Secondly, is there any easy way to make it keep track of whats in my movie folder? Eg automatic scanning?  I replaced some videos last week, and some went from AVIs to MKVs but both now show in OML which isnt fun...

It has a great UI though, FAR better then the inbuilt videos tool.

Re: Open Media Library - souce posted

Does anyone know the answer to this dvdid xml question? I'd like to just drop the xml file in for each movie and have oml display the info. Is this currently possible?

    see link.... http://www.ornskov.dk/forum/index.php?topic=208.0

    Thanks!

Hi, I do have all 3 major blu ray apps installed on my system. I also have damon tools. When I manually mount an ISO outside of mediacenter, it all works fine, but if I use OML to select a blu ray ISO, it seems like mediacenter tries to play the ISO instead of opening up the blu ray player and so I get a mediacenter error that says something like, no blu ray playback allowed in mediacenter. How can I set up OML so that when I click 'Watch' on a blu ray ISO, it will use damon tools to mount it and then automatically open up, say, Totalmedia Theater?

Just curious, what do you (or anyone else) use to create an ISO of Blu-Ray disks?

    OML developers,

Any thoughts of adding functionality provided by Mikinho's addon?

Re: Open Media Library - souce posted

I want to be able to add the movies's on my computer (sort of like a server) and then it add the movies on to the media centre. i realized that the save all to xml isn't working yet. I have also tried to find the database so that i can automatically sync it after i add new movies.

When do you think that the save to xml function will be working ?

If you're referring to my question on Mikinho's addon... I believe it is configurable to any 3rd party playback app.  I've tried it with Powerdvd and it works really well with OML.

Click play from OML, OML loads the ISO using Daemontools, VMC gets minimized, Powerdvd starts up, gets maximized.  If you exit Powerdvd or hit the "back" button (Powerdvd closes in this case), VMC gets maximized and you are returned to OML.

How do you have that app cover all of the various apps that can play BluRay back? I mean there's TMT, various versions of PowerDVD, WinDVD, etc etc. I think it becomes difficult. Take into account the person who has 3 applications installed. This means finding a way to ask the user which application he's using, etc.

I'm not saying it's not do-able, and if Mikinho can join and do it that's great. there are just a lot of things still needing to be finished to just release another beta.
